Hi, I'm Annie! I'm an 8 month old cutie and I can be a bit bashful, but that's just because I love to flirt! I'm pint size, just perfect for cuddling in a lap! I didn't have nice human friends before I came to the Ark, but now that I'm here I love spending time with my new volunteer friends. I'm learning how much I like playing with people and going for walks as I learn how to walk on a leash like a pro! When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, and the most guesses were that I'm a Terrier but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! **Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs.

Meet Dottie, a charming wire-haired terrier with a heart of gold, ready to find her forever family. Dottie's journey hasn't been the easiest. She came from a hoarding situation and, because of this, she is a bit shy and skittish around new people and environments. But don't let that fool you-underneath that timid exterior is a dog who just wants to love and be loved. In her time with her foster family, Dottie has blossomed into a loyal and affectionate companion. Once Dottie feels safe and comfortable, she absolutely adores pets and will happily curl up next to you for some quiet cuddle time. She also gives the sweetest kisses to those she trusts! Though she may jump at loud or unexpected noises, she's a superstar on walks, staying calm and close, especially when cars pass by. Dottie's dream home would have a fenced-in backyard where she can zoom around like the playful pup she is. Picture her racing back and forth, having the time of her life! She also has a soft spot for older, calmer dog siblings who can help her feel secure when she gets nervous. While she's still working on building her confidence around new people, Dottie is house-trained and crate-trained-her crate is her cozy safe space. She's a big fan of chewing on bones and is incredibly well-behaved, never chewing up anything she shouldn't. Cookie is a total sweetheart! She is funny, smart, and has a larger-than-life personality. She is beautiful inside and out! You couldn't ask for a more loveable dog! She LOVES to play fetch, tug-of-war, and run! She is super adorable! The cookie is approx 5-6, 50 pounds and more than likely a Jack Russell Terrier mix. What a fantastic companion dog she is! She loves everyone and seems to be fine around other dogs. She does guard her food so definitely needs to be fed separately. I'm sure she would prefer a home where she could be someone's one and only and truly she deserves to be a princess! I cannot stress enough how marvelous she is! Sadly Cookie lost her family after a tragic accident and nearly lost her life after a storm run through the animal control building she was in, but luckily we saved this amazing gal so someone special could adopt and love her. If you're a lonely person with a home and a fenced-in yard you may wish to adopt Cookie. She will brighten your life! Cookie has been fully medically vetted and on monthly prevention plus microchipped.
