Story
Mulan came to Cameron Animal Rescue from a hoarding situation, and this beauty has made incredibly progress, but still needs a patient family to help her overcome her traumatic past. Mulan is very shy with people, and very scared of new places and new things. She is always gentle, but previously had little human contact and needs to learn that such interaction is not threatening, but instead a positive thing. Mulan is good with other cats, and is tolerant of calm dogs. Once Mulan learns to trust you she is sweet and calmly affectionate- she likes chin rubs and neck scratches. She also enjoys sunbathing and looking out the window. She would do best in a home with another calm adult cat who likes other cats, and can provide her comfort and demonstrate normal human interaction. Mulan is FeLV/FIV negative, Feline Bartonella negative, and spayed. Her adopton includes her full series of FVRCP (distemper) and Rabies vaccines; fecal testing and complete deworming; microchip; and 1 month of free pet insurance. Mulan needs an experienced, patient, quiet home. Children or other pets who are very high energy will not be a good fit for her. A home with a calm adult cat, or adopting Mulan with a buddy is required. Adopters must understand that although with time and patience, Mulan will learn to trust, the process must take months, and she will likely always be somewhat shy. Adopters with an extensive previous veterinary record, and with experience with shy cats, are favored. Preference is also given to adopters located in the Northern NJ area, although adopters from other areas will be considered. Adopters from outside northern NJ are required to have a previous personal or family veterinary reference. Please email CAHadoptions@gmail.com for more information.
