Story
Ziggy is fostered in Mentor Oh and his adoption fee/donation is 150 Hi, My name is Ziggy, I am a 9- 10 yr old male cockapoo. I came into rescue because my former owners were unable to care/provide for me. I am a super sweet boy!! I LOVE sitting on your lap, I cuddle, snuggle, and give kisses. I also like to chew on bones and play with toys and fetch balls. I do like to destroy my toys though, I rip them open and pull out the stuffing!! I get along well with most dogs, but I get territorial when another dog tries to cut in on my lap time with my person. I want ALL the LOVING, but I can easily be redirected when I act up and try to hog all the attention. I am housetrained, but I do drink a lot of water due to my Cushing’s disease, and need to go out often. I would do best with someone home most of the day to let me out to potty. I have some medical issues that needed to be tended to, I have been in rescue for several months, and have seen the vet several times now. I have had bloodwork, ultrasounds, X-rays, medications and vaccinations. It was discovered by the testing I had that I have Cushing’s disease. This is the reason my coat looks the way it does. I have balding spots, and thinning hair. Since being on the medication to treat the Cushing’s, I have been doing much better, my bloodwork is looking good, and my coat is gradually looking a bit better. I am neutered and up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Story
Mia is currently fostered in Kent Ohio, and his adoption fee is $150 Hello, My name is Mia, I am a 7 yr old cockapoo that was surrendered to this rescue when my former owner was moving, and unable to take me with him. I have always had anxiety issues, and have worked very hard on training in my former home. I did make a lot of progress, and was doing well with my former owner, whom I trusted very much. The transition into rescue and being placed into a foster home has been difficult on me, and I have regressed some. I need a very-very patient person that knows how to handle me correctly. I am not a dog that you can bring into your home, and start loving on right away. You can’t put sweaters or clothes on me like a “normal well-adjusted dog”. I am super cute, and people want to cuddle with and pet me right away, and because of my anxiety, I will get nippy, and most people will not tolerate that. I need to be an only dog, I need a lot of time to get to know and trust people. I can be sensitive to being touched on my neck and face, and I should definitely not be around children. I can be very sweet and loving, but it has to be on my terms. I would make an excellent companion for someone that isn’t expecting a cuddly lapdog and can give me the time and space to adjust, which could easily take months. I am not a bad dog, I actually am well trained, I know sit, down, and walk well on a leash. I sit on command and take treats gently, I listen when told “no”, and like to play with my toys, I really can be a great dog! BUT, you need to be patient and understanding with me. I have been groomed regularly by a groomer, but I do need a muzzle to do my feet. If you think you are a good fit for me, fill out an application, and my foster mom will call you and do a phone interview to determine if we might be a good match together. I am already spayed and up to date on vaccines.
