WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾☀️ Meet Toledo — The Little Adventure Buddy with Big Puppy Energy ☀️🐾 Male • 4 Months Old • Future 25ish lbs • Professional Toy Tester & Zoomie Specialist Toledo is a 4-month-old 10lb bundle of puppy happiness wrapped in a handsome darker tan coat and powered entirely by curiosity, wiggles, and snack motivation. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance grooming routine but high-maintenance cuddle expectations… congratulations, you’ve found your boy. This short-haired cutie may possibly be a Puggle mix (pug + beagle), but his official breed classification is “Certified Good-Time Puppy.” His coat is the perfect wash-and-go model — meaning less time brushing and more time doing the important things in life like belly rubs, snacks, and telling him how handsome he is. Toledo is a happy, social little guy who loves other dogs and is especially fond of wrestling matches with his lighter-tan brother, Conroe. Their matches are intense, dramatic, and occasionally involve mid-playtime flops that look like someone hit the “puppy pause button.” Toys? Yes. Exploring outside? Absolutely. Meeting people? His tag is already wagging. He’s a curious little explorer who loves being outside checking out the world, sniffing everything like it’s part of an important investigation, and generally living life like every day is the best day ever. At his young age, he should do just fine with cats when given proper introductions. He loves other dogs and people of all sizes, but keep in mind — he is still a puppy, which means he comes factory-equipped with those famous needle-sharp puppy teeth and enthusiastic little claws. Temporary features, but highly effective during playtime. Life with Toledo will include: • Surprise zoomies through the living room • Dramatic puppy flops mid-play • Toy explosions across the house • Endless kisses • Occasional chaos • A whole lot of laughter Fully grown, he should land around the 25ish pound range, which is basically the goldilocks size of dogs — big enough for adventures, small enough to fit comfortably on the couch (or directly in your lap, according to him). He’ll be the perfect partner for: • Hiking trails • Camping trips • Neighborhood strolls • Co-piloting errand runs • And of course… professional couch snuggling once the day’s adventures are done. If your home could use more laughter, more puppy shenanigans, and a very happy little sidekick who thinks you hung the moon… 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Toledo bring the zoomies, the giggles, and the puppy love home. 🐶💛

Story
Meet Alice! Alice is a female chihuahua mix weighing in at 7 pounds. She is on the search for her fur-ever home! Alice was born in September 2019 which makes her just over 6 years old now. Poor Alice was not treated well prior to coming into rescue. It is believed she was used as a breeder dog at a backyard breeder. She has come a long way since being with her foster family. Alice needs to be treated like the queen she is- she deserves the finest things in life! She is a fun-loving little gal, but has to live life on her terms. A few things to know about Alice: she really is not fond of other dogs, unless they are little and leave her alone, but even then, she can be cranky with them. That being said, it has been determined that Alice should be the only dog in her new home. She will need an adult only home, no kids at all. Alice also needs time to get to know new people- all of her vets talked to her first, walked around the room so Alice could go to know them, then they would pick her up and she was okay with that. Alice doesn’t like people sticking their face in her face. She should be in a home without children but is good with adults who know how to handle her and be respectful. Alice is a good eater and not fussy when it comes to food. She likes car rides- her foster family has a seat that they buckle her into but it sits on the console in the middle of both adults and Alice really seems to love that! Due to her arthritis, she should go to a home without steps; she can’t go up stairs on her own. Her foster family has a ramp but most of the time they carry her outside to go potty and carry her back inside. She should be carried or have a stroller, as she should not walk that much, except for going potty and around the yard. As she gets older, she will need more care as she will develop severe arthritis, so maybe pain meds, anti inflammatories, maybe a cart; for now, she can get around and at the times she cannot, her foster parents carry her and/or use a stroller. Will you be the one to give a gal who hasn’t had a good start to life the best possible life from this point on? Alice’s adoption donation is $300. She is available for adoption in the midwest region, which is comprised of: OH, KY, IL, MI, WI. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. Story
Rayne is a tan, short haired, deer head chihuahua in need of a family. She currently weighs around 8 pounds and is about five years old. Rayne has had a difficult life and needs to find a home where she will be loved and given a chance to flourish. Rayne becomes very attached to people and loves to snuggle. She does not do well with other animals (dogs or cats) as she is food aggressive and will nip at other animals and people when eating or when food is present. Due to her previous situation where she was being starved, she is food insecure. She has gained weight back from this situation and has a good bill of health from the vet. At times, Rayne will nip at people if she feels threatened or she thinks the person she is with is being threatened. Due to this, I would not recommend she be around children of any age. She does not bark or bite at people when they come into the house. She starts out weary of strangers and will come around slowly to them being present in the house. Rayne eats wet food as she has lost some teeth. She is up to date on vaccinations and rabies shots. She has been on a monthly treatment for heartworms. Rayne’s adoption donation is $300. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. To submit an application go here: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.
