Story
Meet Samson! This darling puggle is a friendly, happy boy who is looking for a forever home. He gets around well despite being very overweight at 36 lbs. He loves being outside and has completely ignored all of the other dogs in his foster home. He has big beautiful eyes and loves using them to watch all kitchen-related activity. Samson has some lumps and other old dog stuff (old eyes, mouth that's seen better days) but seems to hear and see decently despite it all. We've discovered that he has Cushings, which is a hormone issue that causes too much cortisol production. Luckily this is easily manageable with Trilostane and special diet (low-fat, high-protein, and moderate fiber). Samson is a total sweetheart. Reach out if you are looking for a distinguished, pot-bellied lovebug to join your tribe! Fostered in Bethesda, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
Juno is a national treasure ~ hands down, the best dog. She doesn’t mind changes, adores meeting new people and dogs, will cuddle with anyone, and loves to eat. * She sleeps peacefully (she snores—but it’s the sweetest sound). * She walks beautifully on a leash, does her business outside, and adores car rides. * She snuggles in close, offering warmth and love to everyone she meets. * She even visited hospice patients with her foster family and they melted at the softness of her fur. * She’s almost done with her antibiotics, and soon, her dental will help her breathe easier. Juno was almost lost to a world that didn’t see her worth. Her owner brought her to the vet to be euthanized…because she had diarrhea and snored. That could have been the end of her story, but her incredible vet knew she had more life to live and that a little tummy trouble and some nighttime noises didn’t define her. Knew that Juno deserved love, comfort, and the chance to truly live. Juno is a reminder that every life matters, that love is more powerful than convenience, and that second chances can change everything. Now, she just needs the right person to see her, love her, and promise her that she will never be unwanted again. Fostered in Silver Spring, MD Please apply to adopt at MirisHaven.org

Story
Sweet little Eliot was found orphaned with 27 other Beagles when his owner passed away and he suddenly had to fend for himself. Despite living mostly outdoors, having a rough initial skin condition, and several broken teeth, he has not lost his sweet spirit. This smart little waif is house broken and a generally happy man. He stands up to greet his favorite humans when they come into the room and rewards them with a big smile and lots of tail wags. He is mellow, patient and never aggressive towards his furry four legged house mates even when they are a little too eager to get to know him. Eliot just wants a second chance on a happy life with a family who gives him unconditional love and lots of head and ear pets. He even rolls on his back when you enter the room for some belly rubs. He sees and hears well, can do a whole flight of stairs, and is great in the car. Won't you make this charming little guy your next best friend? Fostered in Clinton, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org
