Story
HIGHLIGHTS:Must have a fenced-in yard 5` or higherMust have another dog (small/medium sized) to help with confidenceNeeds an adult only home####. Meet Knight, a scared and shy Beagle who is still learning to trust humans. Right now, he’s very resistant to human contact and spends much of his time pacing out of anxiety. Knight will need a lot of patience, understanding, and love from his future family to help him feel safe and secure. He is extremely observant and can often be seen watching interactions between other dogs and humans, almost as if he’s taking notes on how to interact himself. A more confident dog in the home is an absolute must to help guide him and show him the ropes. Knight will need a calm, adult-only home with a very patient family who can understand his fear and help him slowly gain trust. Since he is considered an extreme flight risk, he will require a 6-foot fence or taller to ensure his safety. If you’re willing to give Knight the patient, loving environment he needs to learn how to be a real dog, he may just be the perfect companion for you. - - - - - Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Important InformationPlease read!If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train. Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue. However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location.Hi! My name is Toby, and I am an adorable Pug baby boy that was born 1/20/24, and I weigh 15 pounds. I must have an adopter who is familiar with the needs of my breed. Respectful children over 7 years old would be okay with me.If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Pug baby, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org.Love, Toby 101924-11November 7, 2024, 3:54 pm
