This sweet guy loves soft blankets, easygoing strolls, and soaking up affection from anyone willing to offer it.Chester is friendly, and incredibly affectionate. He has a big personality in a small stature and wants to be wherever you are. He's working on trimming down a bit, and he's more than happy to join you on short walks. Most importantly, Chester is deeply bonded to his brother, Linus, and these two are looking for a forever home as a pair. Seeing them play together is guaranteed to melt your heart. Please note: we are only considering adopters that are willing to keep these two men together**Please come into the shelter during visiting hours if you would like to meet me. Story
🏠 Currently in a Vancvouer foster homeHi… my name is Kkamang 🖤I’m a 1 year and 6 month old Chihuahua mix boy, just 5kg (11 lbs) — small enough to fit in your arms, and hoping to fit in your heart too.I was rescued from a dog meat farm. Since the day I was born, I didn’t know what it felt like to have someone call my name. No warm arms. No soft whispers. I wasn’t a “someone” — I was just… there. Inside a metal cage, each day wasn’t about learning. It was about enduring. I learned how to be quiet. How to wait. How to survive. So when I first meet someone new, I pause for a moment. It doesn’t mean “go away.” It means, “Is it really safe this time?” But if you offer me a gentle voice… a small treat… a little patience, my tiny wall falls very quickly. Because the truth is — I like people. I always have. Once I know you, I’m much more affectionate than you’d expect. I’ll press my little body right next to you, sit close, and look into your eyes as if I’m asking for love. No one ever taught me how to be loved, but somehow, I know how to want it.I get along quietly and peacefully with other dogs too. I don’t cause trouble. I know how to share space and not feel lonely.Home life, though… that will be new for me. A house. Daily routines. Rules about where to potty. Time spent alone. I may make mistakes. I may be clumsy at first. But those moments won’t be because I’m lacking — they’ll simply be signs of a life I was never given the chance to learn. Please wait for me. Please teach me slowly. If you do, I will trust you with my whole heart. I will become a deeply loving, loyal little family member who believes completely in my person.I was born just to survive. Now, I want to live. I want a life where I don’t fear being sent back to a cage. A life where I don’t worry about being abandoned again. A life where someone calls my name every day. That’s why I’m looking for a family who will be patient as I learn home life step by step, who will use gentle voices instead of force, and who will promise that I will never return to a cage again. Will you be my very first family? Please let the rest of my life be remembered not for sadness — but for love. 🖤🐾

Story
It is with a heavy heart that we seek a new home for our beloved boy. A cherished part of our family since 2014, our Long-Haired Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix just turned 12 this March. He is a soulful, handsome senior with a lifetime of love to give. He is a wonderful balance of cuddly and playful. While he’s becoming more of a quiet loner in his golden years, he truly thrives on human presence. He has always been an indoor dog and is fully pee pad trained, making him very easy to care for. Our office hours have changed, and he deserves more attention than we can now provide. We are looking for: - Company: Someone home often (retired or WFH) to keep him engaged. - A Quiet Space: He can be feisty with strangers and loud children; a calm, adult-oriented home is best. - Senior Experience: Owners who understand the beauty and needs of an older dog. He is a loyal best friend ready for a soft place to land. Could you be his forever match?
