Story
Manchas means spots, but also light of spirit, light-hearted. That epitomizes this 1 year old pug who has endured and overcome so much in his brief life without losing his loving, gentle nature. His original owner surrendered him to a local vet to be euthanized because he couldn't afford the much-needed surgery to remove Manchas' damaged and infected left eye. The vet accepted the dog & contacted GDR who gladly welcomed him. Manchas has healed from his surgery & his heart & spirit have healed as well. He is tiny-only 13 pounds, likes toys, other small dogs, cats, and most especially, cuddling with humans. He places his paws on anyone seated & gazes up at them, asking for "uppies." He gladly settles in against your chest, a paw on each side of your neck, making soft grunts of pleasure until he falls asleep. He does startle at loud noises, hinting at traumas in his past, so an ultra noisy household isn't his vibe. Are you the right person or family to continue his second life where he will know only love, security, and joy? Attributes: Crate trained 90% housebroken (suspect he used to be an outdoor dog) A true cuddle bug Local adoption fee is $350 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

FOREVER HOME NEEDED Say hello to Sicily! She is a 5-year-old, 28 lb Pug who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA in hopes of finding her forever home here in WA! She is currently living in foster care. Sicily (“Sissy”) is very sweet and loving. She does well in a crate (overnight and when we have to be gone intermittently). She loves to eat and to be around people. She is very social and makes friends quickly. She is great with our kids, ages 5 and 7. She is friendly with other dogs (likes to play with our two family dogs) and also does well on walks. She learns quickly and figured out how to use our dog door after only a few attempts. She likes to play with toys and explore the yard. She could do ok in an apartment setting with regular walks. She has high energy but is also happy to settle in on a lap. Sicily is going to make a wonderful addition to any lucky household that adopts her! Sicily is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $600.

Story
Animal Profile:  Tattie is a 20lb, 6-year-old female pug that found herself in need of rescue when she wound up in the Moreno Valley Shelter. We saw her profile, and knew we needed to get her out! A cage is no place to live for a pugtato. She arrives Sunday 10/20 and we are excited to meet her! Foster Update:  Tattie is a sweet, sassy girl. She loves cuddles, cozy dog beds, soft squeaky toys and naps. She wants to be part of all the family activities. She is thriving with our daily routine and takes cues from other dogs. She snores rather loud but has a quiet bark that she rarely uses. She can be pretty sporty in short bursts. She doesn’t love walks and will not go potty just because she’s outside (apartment life wouldn’t be a good fit). She needs time to explore the yard. She likes soft treats but isn’t very motivated by food. She can go up the stairs but can’t go down them (we’re working on that).   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  This dog is arriving from San Bernadino via Wiggle Butts Transport on Sunday 10/20/2024. She will be available for adoption in the Seattle area. November 6, 2024, 5:36 pm

Story
Meet Bruno! This young pup came to us a few weeks ago. He was found in a rural area and was clearly in distress. It appeared he had sustained a head injury, possibly from being hit by a car, or possible from abuse. It is hard to tell. He has been recovering in his foster home and is doing very well. He is an outgoing and sweet little boy. He loves other dogs and all humans though he can be a little hand shy at times. He loves playing in the yard outside and chewing on his toys. He is so much fun. He is a little more wary of men and seems to prefer women but he is easily won over with a bit of patience.  Bruno is generally in good health but his injury has left him with minor neurological damage. His depth perception is not 100%, likely because one side of his brain sustained the injury and cause damage to his eye. He can see but the eye is turned outwards a little bit. He can sometimes turn in a circle, or walk backwards, as if to get his bearings. Overall he is just delightful and his mild impairment just makes him more endearing. Bruno is vaccinated and microchipped. He will be neutered at our cost between 8-12 months of age. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
