Story
This sweet girl has had quite the ride.  First, she was found as a stray in rural Louisiana by a nice lady who took her in and found her a new home.  Unfortunately, that home did not turn out to be forever and she was found tied to a tree and pregnant.  The lady heard about this and took her in but reached out to one of our rescue partners for help.  Thanks to an AFH foster, she was able to give birht to her pups in a warm, safe, loving foster home. Sasha has been a great mom to her pups and will be available for adoption once her pups are weaned. She will be spayed and can go home once that is complete. Sasha is a small girl and would be a wonderful addition to your family!Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org January 13, 2025, 8:31 am

Maribel is the cutest of the bunch. She is such a lovely little baby. She enjoys being cuddled and is getting a bit spoiled because everyone loves to pick her up. She is a very playful little girl and is going to be less than 25 pounds full grown. Maribel does well with everyone and would do well in a quiet home or part of a pack. She has the softest fur that makes you want to pet her all day. Story
Winifred or Winnie is a sweet girl that was surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her.  Winnie would do well in a home as a single dog or with one that is calmer and not high energy or in her face.  She would also do well with older children as she loves her people and to be part of a family.  She loves to take treats from your hand, snuggle in your lap, and does fantastic on car rides.  She is working on her routine and potty training so she will require a family that will get her into a schedule and work on her this with her. PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion. ##2265074##

Story
Meet Journie, an 12 week old pug mix puppy from the south of Texas-these guys are social and friendly, love to play and just too adorable. Josie is one of the largest of the litter and expected to be about 20 pounds. Journie has a very small "cherry eye", a painless condition that pugs are known for...we are planning on having it fixed when she is a little older (at our expense at our vet) and will be happy to discuss this further with adopter. PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. The adoption fee is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior to the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is between 7-9 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment

Story
Ryder is a 5-month old pug mix. He is up to date and shots and weighs around 15 lbs. He is fostered in Laurel, MD. Ryder is a sweet guy and loves to play with other dogs. He is an affectionate puppy and loves to climb on your lap for a snuggle or belly rub. This is his favorite spot to relax. Ryder is working on potty training and is doing great. He is a smart puppy, who is very eager to please and learns quickly. Ryder is new to PPR, and we will continue to update as we learn more about him. This lovebug is ready to find his forever home! Please note: You must have a dedicated private space for potty and outdoor exploration. Puppies often need additional immunizations before they are allowed to walk in public spaces. Pup cannot be left alone for more than "4" hours at a time. This is necessary for comfort breaks and much needed socialization for a pup this age. For young puppies that leave unaltered: A refundable $100 spay/neuter deposit for adopters with established spay/neuter history is required. A refundable $200 spay/neuter deposit for adopters without spay/neuter history is required. If interested in adopting please fill out our no obligation online application at www.puppypawsrescue.org Our rescue requires that all adopter's current and prior animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (DHLPP & Rabies) and preventatives (heartworm and flea and tick), unless there is a medical reason not allowing it. All animals in your household should be spayed or neutered unless medically indicated that they should not be or are currently still too young.
