Story
Foster Update: Hi! Raleigh is a very good dog! First, he loves to go outside and sniff a lot on nice walks. He can be a bit stubborn, but does not pull. He gets along great with other people and seems fine with other dogs. He does best in a harness because of his fat neck. He is very overweight. He likes to watch TV and he barks at any dogs that bark on screen! He is very affectionate and likes to be around his people, including at night. He is not a fan of being crated and will bark. 10 years old, house trained, good with kids & dogs, no cats. SIR RALEIGH, as his owner affectionately called him, was surrendered when his owner could no longer care for him. He arrived with his housemate, Bruno, and these two may be adopted together or separately. He is good with kids & dogs but no cats, please! Raleigh is house trained and gets nervous riding in cars. Raleigh was so happy to see me heading for him, he barked in excitement. Easy on the leash, we pleasantly walked along to the yard where he enthusiastically sniffed and ran around. He is XL for a little guy and bc of this is considered borderline diabetic so interested families should be ready for lots of walks, exercise and watching his diet.  He can be trusted free to roam in the home and even knows how to use a doggie door! Raleigh loves his person so much he can be a little protective of him or her but it happens only when they are home. As an older dog, he is experienced in living with a family and being part of a family but advanced age can bring about health issues so please be prepared for this.  Raleigh is a fun and happy dude ready to move on. His smile is awesome and his energy is warm. If you are interested in Raleigh, please come meet him in our small dog adoption kennel.  341 S Birdneck Road, VB Open daily 12-5 pm.        Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:35 pm
