Story
One-year-old Thunder is a pug mix with a winning smile and a bit of curl to his tail! This young and impressionable boy is eager for training and responds well to loving boundaries. He is housetrained and crate trained, and prefers a solo dining experience. Table for one, please! Although he is polite with other dogs when they are not around his food, he is not particularly playful with them and seems to prefer the company of adult humans; he may thrive in a home where he is the only dog. His ideal forever family will have time to devote to training and make plenty of time for snuggles. Thunder’s foster mom reports that he is at his best when given consistent love, attention, and training, and he is quickly proving to be a loyal, affectionate, and obedient little guy. If Thunder sounds like your perfect BFF, apply for him at dfwpugs.com!

Story
Eight-year-old Murphy is a handsome senior with an energetic side! He enjoys cuddling with his humans on the couch and watching TV, but also loves chasing other dogs and playing with toys. Murphy’s other favorite pastimes include going for walks, wolfing down his food, engaging in attempted food thievery from other dogs’ bowls, and snoozing in various locations throughout the house (including on human beds, under human beds, on the couch, and in the crate). Murphy is housetrained, crate trained, doggie door trained, and responds well to verbal corrections from his people. As a born explorer with a curious side, he is occasionally tempted to bolt out of the front door to see all of the happenings in the neighborhood; his ideal forever family will be prepared with bolting prevention tactics (which could include treats, as Murphy loves his food). If you’re looking for a senior who enjoys mellow moments and playtime in equal measure, Murphy could be the perfect companion for you! Apply for him at dfwpugs.com.

Story
Brother-and-sister pair Missus (9 years old, with black fur and a frosted face) and Mister (8 years old, with a fawn coat) are looking for their new forever home together! This outgoing and affectionate duo have Velcro tendencies who love cuddling and spending time with people of all ages as well as other dogs. Mister is the more active of the two; he loves to go for walks, whereas Missus tends to enjoy the couch potato lifestyle. At night, they snooze next to each other in their playpen area. Because of their social nature, Mister and Missus would do best in a home with at least one human who is home frequently. Both take daily eye drops and joint supplements to feel their best. If you’d like to make this loving and easygoing bonded pair part of your family, apply for them at dfwpugs.com!

Story
10-year-old Dougie Boy is a laid-back, gentle, and affectionate companion who prefers to stay close to his people. This distinguished senior may have a bit of hearing loss, but he still has plenty of zest for life and knows how to rock a t-shirt! His favorite activities include snuggling, riding in the car, playing with toys, going for leisurely walks, watching his humans prepare a delicious selection of wet food for him, and scarfing down his food quickly. Dougie Boy is housetrained and doggie door trained, but doesn’t love being crated and will tell you so. His ideal forever family will have a calm, relaxed home and provide him with as much companionship as possible, as he’s not a fan of solo time and likes to have body contact with his people. From the passenger’s seat to the couch, Dougie Boy is a loving and loyal companion! If you’d like to add this bright-eyed senior to your home, apply for him at dfwpugs.com.

Some pets are in the Shelter and others in Foster homes. Please read the bio & email the address listed in the bio.   Additionally for CATS you  may email  JShelton@eulesstx.gov and for DOGS, email trinitygapclub@gmail.com        Hi, my name is Dandy, and I am looking for my forever home. I am about 1 year young and 32 pounds of puppy love, they say that I look like I have a bit of pug/lab and other stuff, but what I hear mostly is that I am a very handsome dude. I came to the shelter as a stray, but no more because some very loving humans have taken me into their home to foster me, and teach me how to be a part of a family,  and they report that I am a quick study. My favorite thing is to play with my canine foster sibling, she is the best teacher ever and knows all kinds of games, I am learning to chase the ball, but I haven’t mastered dropping it yet, I much prefer to keep it and chew on it, I really like that. My second favorite thing is to snuggle and love on my humans, I didn’t get to do that before, so I am making up for lost time, I also get very excited and happy when the grandkids come to visit and play with me. My foster dad says that I am very obedient and don’t get on the furniture when told not to do so, he is also training me to learn the “invisible fence trick”, so I don’t go into the rooms where I am not allowed, the only thing I don’t enjoy yet is riding in the car, but I am getting better each time. I am potty trained, almost a 100% crate trained, neutered, and updated on all vaccinations. My only demands are that you let me be your most loyal friend, a couple toys, a ball to chase and a doggie bed. If you would like to meet me, please contact jgressett@sbcglobal.net February 13, 2025, 7:52 pm

Story
Meet Buster! Buster was surrendered by his previous humans at just 1 years old and heartworm positive. It takes time for him to be comfortable and show his true self. Originally, he was terrified of humans. Now his tail wags for feedings, to go outside, and when ready to play. He is friendly with his foster’s furry kids and doesn’t mind the cats. This kid is ready to be loved by his furever family. We need to make sure you gave extra patience, so he can bloom with his family. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
