~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: Maddie is currently being treated for Heartworms ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam ***** Temperament: Located with our HOUSTON Branch Meet Maddie: Your Future Snuggle Buddy! If you’re searching for the ultimate companion to fill your home with love and warmth, look no further than Maddie! Nim came to is as a breeder release. His mom has been adopted and he is now ready to find his forever home. Nim is super playful and would do best in a home with another dog to play with. We expect that he will stay on the small side so young children would not be the best situation for him. Nim is a year old and his adoption fee is $400. ##1725829##

Story
Meet OJ! This tall, 40-pound bundle of joy might be part pug, part Aussie, and all personality. OJ is full of energy, loves his toys, and takes his job of protecting the yard from bunnies, squirrels, birds, and rogue leaves very seriously. He’s a zoomie pro—indoors and out—and would thrive with another playful dog (but no cats, please… he's way too interested in them!). OJ is food aggressive but does great when meals are served on opposite sides of the room. He’s kennel trained but much prefers snoozing on the bed with his human—just be ready for a bit of snoring. He walks fairly well on a leash but pulls with enthusiasm to explore the world. He’s great with the 3-year-old granddaughter in his foster home, who understands how to respect dogs. That said, due to his excitement and tendency to zoom right past little ones, a home with dog-savvy kids and no fragile seniors would be best—he’s got some strong “accidental linebacker” energy when he jumps to say hi. OJ is a sweet boy learning better manners every day. With continued structure and love, he’ll be an awesome companion for an active household.     ##2353867##

Story
Jessie is a spirited and affectionate 1-year-old, 38-pound puggle with a zest for life! Her lively personality and playful energy make her a joy to be around. Jessie has a big heart and an even bigger love for people—she doesn’t believe in personal space, preferring to shower her humans with kisses and cuddles whenever she can.She enjoys playing with other dogs but has a tendency to be a bit dominant, so she’ll thrive best with playmates who can match her energy and confidence. Jessie is looking for a home where she can share her endless affection and playful spirit with a family who will adore her as much as she adores them.Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. The best way to get in touch with us is by email: info@secondchancespca.org. Story
We bought her from a neighbor back in 2017 she is currently 7 but will be 8 in May. She's very friendly with other dogs and children. With our current jobs and my son going off to college it's been very difficult to make time for her. We'd like to see her go home with someone that needs a companion and has the time to give her a better life. She did have a accident about 4 yrs ago and lost a eye but it hasn't stopped her from still being happy and active . She's adjusted very well and continues to enjoy life.
