Story
Coco is being fostered in PA and has some vision. Coco is a very, very sweet girl whose favorite pastime is napping. She loves being scratched just about anywhere by her human and is a very go-with-the-flow girl, being great with people of all ages. She is wonderful with other dogs and cats if they do not get right in her face. Even then, she'll just give them a sharp bark to try to get them to leave. Her high-strung, young, maltipoo foster brother is NOT her favorite at all. She is a champion sleeper and often needs to be awakened to eat her breakfast and dinner. She will not indicate a need to go outside but is very aware that outside means "potty time" and she gets right down to business. She has trimmed down quite a bit and should still lose a few pounds, but she is moving much better since losing the 7 pounds she has. She loves being outside to sniff around and to just sit and sniff. She is not a fan of leash walks and will simply sit after a couple minutes. If you are looking for a sweet, well-behaved couch potato, Coco is definitely your girl! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
I am rehoming my almost one-year-old pug and shar pei mix due to significant changes in my living situation. We unexpectedly transitioned from a two-person household where someone was home most of the time, to a small apartment with just me. I am now often working or in school and don’t have the time or ability to give her the attention, exercise, and companionship she deserves—especially being so young and full of energy. She’s very sweet, but can be picky with both other dogs and cats. She’s used to having a dog brother, and I believe she would thrive in a home where she’s not alone as much. Additionally, she has occasional accidents late at night if she isn’t able to go outside right before bed. I want to make sure she gets the life she deserves, and unfortunately, my current situation isn’t conducive to that.

Story
Cookie Bear is a quirky little dog with lots of love and energy to spare. Cookie is the perfect blend of mixed breed. She is dark brindle, almost black with a pigmented tongue. She has long legs and a long whip like tail, which always lets you know when she’s happy, but can hurt if she accidentally hits you with it during a shake. She is a lanky 27 pounds and has the bark of a big dog. She’s very chatty and will howl along if you sing to her, plus she does excited barking when going outside, playing, or getting a treat.  She loves playing with (destroying) soft toys and playing fetch. She has a few chew bones and squeaky bones that she enjoys as well. Cookie is smart and loves to learn new things. She has mastered get back, sit, lay down, stay, come, speak, and quiet. She will work hard for a treat but really loves praise. When getting pets, she stomps her back legs in joy, lifting them so high and stomping so hard. (Much like Nala stomps for those who are familiar.) She is a total cuddle bug and loves to roll around on the blankets.  Cookie gets along great with cats in her foster home, but is dog reactive. She may be able to get along well with a well adjusted dog sibling after a slow introduction period, but would prefer to be the only dog. She would be fine with older children who are dog smart. She can be protective of her foster mom (her person) and has some resource guarding tendencies as well.   The Basics Age: 7-8 Weight: 27 pounds Spayed/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes On Heartworm Prevention: Yes On Flea/Tick Prevention: Yes House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes, good for a few hours at a time  Leash Skills: Great. She just needs to be  monitored for possible reoccurrence.  Likes/Dislikes Toys: Loves!  Will tear up soft toys, loves chew bones and playing fetch. Understands “go get your bone!” Other Animals: Likes cats, dog reactive (see above)  People/Kids: Loves people, barks at first but happy once she gets acknowledged  Car Rides: Likes the adventure, but does get anxious.  Separation: Okay in the crate for a few hours at a time. Story
Hello, my name is Quinn Meredith Patrick. I am a five year old, full blooded Female Boston Terrier. I am super sweet and a little timid. I take some time to warm up to you, but when I do, you have my heart and I like to be close to my person(s). When I’m comfortable with you, I love belly rubs and lots of snuggles, I even have a slight issue with personal space, I get a little scared/nervous with loud noises (I.e.thunder) and fast movements, so small children might be scary for me.  Age: 5 yrs DOB 4/4/2019Weight: 21.5 poundsSpayed/Neutered: YesMicrochipped: YesVaccines Up-to-Date: YesOn Heartworm Prevention: YesHouse-Trained: yesCrate-Trained: yes, Leash Skills: much betterLikes/DislikesToys: unsure… haven’t really figured them out yet, but is slowly learning how to playOther Animals: gets along with other dogs; cats, unsurePeople/Kids: adults, does ok; kids, unsureCar Rides: does pretty well in the car, a little scary, but handles it wellSeparation: noneContact/Application InfoQuestions? btretky@gmail.comCurrent location: Frankfort, KYAdoption Fee: $425 includes microchip registrationReady to Apply to Adopt?
