Story
Archie is an 8-year-old, 45 lb pug mix who’s sweet, affectionate, and loyal in the right environment. He suffers from anxiety and is reactive with other dogs, requiring an experienced owner to provide proper care. He’s cautious with new people but warms up once comfortable, often using a muzzle for introductions. While Archie has never bitten, he has growled and snapped, so the muzzle remains necessary. He’d do best as the only pet in a calm, patient home with someone who understands his reactivity and anxiety. He loves cuddles, playing with toys, and getting the zoomies. Rehoming Archie is a heartbreaking decision, but he deserves a safe, fulfilling environment that I can no longer provide. Please reach out if you have questions or can offer a loving home.

Story
Buddy! Thats his name AND his personality. This friendly pooch is ready to be your best bud and you are just in luck because he needs a new family to call his own. He is always willing to meet new human friends and give them a nice little how-do-you-do sniff. He can be a little shy/nervous at first and prefers to walk circles around you to check-you-out. He comes around very fast and soon he will be your bestest pal asking for pets, playtime and snackies. What does Buddy REALLY love though? DOGS! If you want to see Buddy come to life with the zoomies, bring him another canine friend. He gets along well with other dogs and his favorite thing to do is to get the other dog to try and chase him! He is a bit of a chonky boy so hes not the fastest (and would definitely lose at a game of tag) but it is so fun to watch him go go go!Speaking of being a chonky boy, his new owner will have to keep him on track with a good diet and not too many treatos as he needs to lose a few pounds. He tries to be a bit picky (only eating wet food or treats) to try and convince you to always give him the good junky foods. Otherwise, Buddy is a healthy boy that is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.Buddy previously had ongoing eye issues in the past but it has been repaired and has no further issues at this time.If you are interested in adopting Buddy, please call the West Region Shelter at 416-338-6271 to get the process started.

Story
Lizzie is a lively bundle of pug energy, ready to bring laughter and joy into your home! At 5 years old, she`s bursting with enthusiasm for life and is always on the lookout for her next adventure. Lizzie`s playful spirit is infectious, and she`s guaranteed to keep you entertained with her antics and silly expressions. Despite the changes in her life, Lizzie`s resilient spirit shines through. She`s eager to find a forever home where she can shower her new family with affection and laughter. Lizzie would thrive in a home where her lively personality is embraced. She adores human companionship and would make a fantastic addition to a loving household. Lizzie loves nothing more than playtime, whether it`s chasing toys in the backyard or snuggling up on the couch for some cuddles. She`s spayed, microchipped, health-checked and is up to date on her vaccinations. Lizzie had a special surgery known as a cherry eye repair here at the North Shelter. She`s currently healing well however Lizzie`s new owner should ensure complete resolution with their own veterinarian upon adoption. Lizzie has experience hanging out with another dog here, Mazie, who recently got adopted. They were two peas in a pod! Mazie was definitely Lizzie`s favourite companion while at the shelter, as she`s been known to voice her displeasure at some of the other dogs here. If you currently have a dog at home, we can discuss this and arrange a meet and greet to see how the dogs interact in a safe and controlled environment :) If you are ready for all the joy and work that comes with adopting Lizzie, please give us a call at the North Shelter at 416-338-PAWS(7297) between the hours of 10:30AM-6:30PM and we can talk to you about her and outline the adoption process further.Thank you for considering one of our dogs available for adoption!
