Stunning Bruno is looking for a loving home! What makes him so special—besides his cute looks—is that he is very loving and playful. He loves going for walks and exploring the world around him. You can take him everywhere—pet stores, parks, and department stores. He is a great companion! He gets along well with other dogs and likes to play with them. He is a very happy boy who loves giving and receiving love and affection. Bruno is an active dog who loves running around chasing a ball or playing tug-of-war. His best home would have a fenced-in yard with another dog to play with. He can also be in the city as he is a confident dog and loves going for walks. Older, respectful kids would be good, but he can be a little rough with younger kids. He is 2 years old, house trained, up-to-date on all vaccinations, sterilized, microchipped, 4dx tested: negative for heart worm, currently on flea/tick/heart worm prevention and dewormed. Bruno has stunning good looks and a gentle and sweet nature, and he learns quickly with a kind word and some treats. He is ready to find his own person! Interested in this sweet love bug? Story
Ted - 6 years, 18lbs, Pug/Chi Mix, Neutered  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.  MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60  minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Puerto Rico or Southern California. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
Meet Loki.  No, he's not the god of mischief Loki...he's our new pug mix named Loki.  And actually he's not totally new, as he's been staying in a foster home in Texas while he's been undergoing heartworm treatments and healing his back leg.  Loki came to us as an owner surrender.  He spent his life chained to a tree, but he was a smart little guy and kept finding a way out of his collar and running off (who can blame him).  Somewhere along the way he hurt his back paw.  Once the owner surrendered him to us, we got him looked at by a vet.  They said, his back paw injury was due to pulled tendons and it's the type of injury that just takes some time to heal.  He's already walking better on it.  We also discovered that he was heartworm positive, and he's been undergoing the treatment to rid him of them.  He will be finished with his treatments and ready to come to the NJ area by our July transport. Loki is a male, pug mix, who is approximately 2 years old and weighs 30 pounds.  He is a very happy dog who loves to sit in your lap.  He gets along well with other dogs and likes to play.  He is a vocal pup, but he is currently wearing a vibration collar and that stops his barking.  Loki is ready to find his forever home! Personality: friendly, playful, affectionate, lapdog, vocal Good with: people of all ages (including kids), and dogs.  Has not been cat tested yet. Estimated date of birth: 4/1/23 Weight: 30 pounds Medical: Fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped Location: Loki is currently located with a foster in Texas, but if adopted, will come to the NJ area on our next transport. Story
Woods is a charming little guy with the sweetest personality! He's a perfect smaller sized boy who weighs 25 pounds and would ideally add another 5 pounds. He's a perfect gentleman who was surrendered with his sister by his owner who could no longer take care of them both. As you can see in his photos, he has an adorable face and we think he's a Pug and Beagle mix. Check out his pics....he looks like he's praying for his new family in one of them! He's living with a lovely Foster family now who say "Woods can be a bit shy when he first meets new people but warms up quickly once he feels comfortable. He's full of hugs and cuddles and just wants to be loved. He's really well behaved and walks nicely on a leash and gets along great with our other dogs. He's also house-trained and crate trained so he's been really easy to live with." We're looking for a loving adopter for Woods who will always love him and take care of him. He'd love a doggie sibling but would do great as a solo pup too. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get more info on this sweet guy!

Story
Meet Flip Flop! This three-year-old boroughbred cutie is a certified mush who just completed his training program with our friends at Personal Paws. He's now the definition of a well-trained pup and is ready to find his forever family! When Flip Flop arrived in our care, it quickly became clear that he had been through a tough start to life: he had an old dislocated hip injury that his body was forced to adjust to, and he was highly excitable, struggling to contain big feelings, especially around new people and other dogs. Not to fear! He's proven to be one resilient, determined pooch, and his training has helped him learn to manage his emotions and communicate appropriately with his world. We know he'll only continue to grow more polite and confident as he hones his skills! Flip Flop thrives with proper structure and a clear routine, and is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, an all-star! He is the perfect mix of silly and studious: he equally loves to play and to learn, and is looking for a family who can match his freak. He's a loyal pup who loves his people fiercely, and is perfect for someone seeking a ride or die companion to go through life with. According to his former foster parents, "Flip loves being with his people and has so much love to give! He never fails to make us laugh - his personality is even bigger than his head, and living with him is like having your own real life cartoon. He is so fun to train and eager to please. He's easily one of the most special dogs we've known, and he has the absolute best heart." Flip Flop would do best in a home outside of the city, away from the hustle and bustle, and is suited for an adult-only home, or one with older children who can respect boundaries, while he continues sharpening his good boy skills. His future family will not only get a very well-trained boy, but also a detailed training plan and follow-up sessions to keep him on the right track. Adopters interested in Flip Flop can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. If you're not approved yet, apply today at hbrdogs.com!
