Story
Hey guys! My name is Popeye and I am about 1 years old and only 30lbs. I am new to CCRC so they will update my profile once they learn about all the amazing things about me.  If you are interested in meeting me, please go to www.ccrcdogs.com to fill out an application, we could be best friends in no time.  We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   December 18, 2024, 11:30 am

Story
Unfortunately Bugz needs to be rehomed due to my increased busy lifestyle. I live in an apartment and have no one to help out with the care taking of him. He is a very very nice dog. He is house trained for the most part. Still has an accident here and there when I’m working long shifts and can’t let him out. He loves to play fetch with his little stingray toy that I got him. He knows how to sit and lay down. Does not bite. LOVES to lick… he plays with other dogs once he warms up to them. Bugz birthday is March 13, 2024. Still a puppy. He is not yet “fixed”.

Meet Lulu, the Lovable Porky Diva! Lulu has been working hard and making huge strides since she was surrendered to our shelter, and she’s now ready to find her forever family! Here’s a little about Miss Lulu: -Bully Breed Personality – She’s got that classic bully charm, which means she’s loyal, playful, and just a little bit stubborn! -Treats are the Way to Her Heart – Give Lulu a treat when you first meet her, and you’ll be fast friends. No treats? Well, she might show off her diva side! -Dog & Cat Friendly – Lulu loves other dogs and would likely do just fine with cats too. She’s the perfect social pup! -Loves Older Kids – This sweet girl has a soft spot for older kids who are ready to share in her love and her playful energy. Lulu has come such a long way, and now all she needs is someone who’s ready to take on her sassy side and embrace the loyal, loving dog she is. If you’re up for the challenge AND reward of Lulu, apply today! Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Story
Champ A17087460 lb. neutered male, approx 3 years old -This handsome fella is amazing and sweet!-He’s very scared and timid here but finds comfort being near you for pets-He lifts up his paw and puts it near you a little when he wants more attention-He didn’t take any treats from me. He did lick them from my hand but that was about it.-He got a quick bath and did great! He was really tolerant and good for all of it.-Walks great on a leash-He just needs to build some confidence and learn how to be a dog-I think he’ll be an amazing boy in time!-He could really benefit from a patient adopter/foster to give him time and space to be the best he can be!-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper introsUnknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-3:30 BUT our adoptions are done 7 days a week from 10:30am -3:00pm. •The last potential adopter must arrive before 3:00 pm so we have time to properly help you before closing. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
