This is Milo , he was born 4/9/2024. He is about 20 lbs. Has rabies shots only. He loves to play fetch and chew on toys. He has a lot of energy and will need someone who has time to play and take him on walks. He lives with 2 dogs now and gets along good but does fight with them time to time. He will need to sleep next to you in bed at night. He is not neutered but only has one testicle. He is very lovable and needs a forever home.

Meet Josie, an 8 week old pug mix puppy from the south of Texas-these guys are social and friendly, love to play and just too adorable. Josie is one of the largest of the litter and expected to be about 20 pounds. Josie has a very small "cherry eye", a painless condition that pugs are known for...we are planning on having it fixed when she is a little older (at our expense at our vet) and will be happy to discuss this further with adopter. PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. The adoption fee is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior to the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is between 7-9 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. We came from down south and now mom says we are northern implants not sure what that means but ok I'm learning new stuff every day. We have lots of friends here at the ranch. We have doxi friends that are a little older than us and mom says to not bark like they do its 'annoying' I'm not sure why she thinks that but I tried it and I thought it was rather fun so we do it when moms not in the room but somehow she always knows and she comes out of her office and gives us 'the look' hmmmm I wonder how she knows??!!!Ava is my bestest friend and we would LOVE to stick together. Mom says she will find us a furever home with a fenced yard so we can run and play like we do here! We aren't 'fixed' yet so mom says as soon as we are old enough to have that done we will be ready for our new home. I didn't know we was broken but I guess I just gotta trust the lady.... I thought maybe we could stay here but she says we will get a home where we can be the center of someones world. Humans talk funny I have NO clue what that even means! My name is Ava and I am a "northern transplant". Me and my brother took a long ride and ended up at this place they call the ranch. We have lots of friends to play with and these things called humans who always want to pick us up and smooch on us!!! We let them and then we wiggle to get down and go play! They are sort of "sissies" Alvin says because when we try to nibble on them they act like we were trying to hurt them. Alvin says maybe we should just nibble on the bones on the floor and leave the humans fingers alone since they obviously can't handle our nibbles. They apparently like to be licked so we do that just to make them happy since they seem to be the food dispensers... We have sat down with the staff and told them we would like a fenced yard when we are adopted :) 2nd Chance has promised we will not go to a one dog household we want another small dog to play with if we can't stay together! I lived in a really dirty house with 148 dogs. It wasn't very fun and it smelled REALLY bad which means I smelled really bad too :( Here at the ranch they love us and give us spa days and really good food!
