Gouda is part of the Cheese Litter of seven (Munster, Mozzarella, Gouda, Parmesan, Cheddar, Swiss and Colby Jack). These sweet babies came from an overcrowded shelter in Chesterfield, South Carolina. The shelter is no place for a tiny puppy, fortunately they have been rescued by K-9 Lifesavers and are ready to find forever homes. Could that be with you? Gouda is your typical sweet and friendly puppy. He is great with people and other dogs. At his young age, Gouda is in his prime for training and socialization. Gouda is ready to find his people for life and in return he promises to shower them with all his sweetness and love. With Gouda, every day is a new adventure filled with joy and companionship. The question isn't why you should adopt Gouda, but rather, why wouldn't you want to bring such a bundle of cuteness into your life? Submit an application today and change his life forever! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/. Story
Juno is a national treasure ~ hands down, the best dog. She doesn’t mind changes, adores meeting new people and dogs, will cuddle with anyone, and loves to eat. * She sleeps peacefully (she snores—but it’s the sweetest sound). * She walks beautifully on a leash, does her business outside, and adores car rides. * She snuggles in close, offering warmth and love to everyone she meets. * She even visited hospice patients with her foster family and they melted at the softness of her fur. * She’s almost done with her antibiotics, and soon, her dental will help her breathe easier. Juno was almost lost to a world that didn’t see her worth. Her owner brought her to the vet to be euthanized…because she had diarrhea and snored. That could have been the end of her story, but her incredible vet knew she had more life to live and that a little tummy trouble and some nighttime noises didn’t define her. Knew that Juno deserved love, comfort, and the chance to truly live. Juno is a reminder that every life matters, that love is more powerful than convenience, and that second chances can change everything. Now, she just needs the right person to see her, love her, and promise her that she will never be unwanted again. Fostered in Silver Spring, MD Please apply to adopt at MirisHaven.org
