Story
Meet Josie, an 8 week old pug mix puppy from the south of Texas-these guys are social and friendly, love to play and just too adorable. Josie is one of the largest of the litter and expected to be about 20 pounds. Josie has a very small "cherry eye", a painless condition that pugs are known for...we are planning on having it fixed when she is a little older (at our expense at our vet) and will be happy to discuss this further with adopter. PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. The adoption fee is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior to the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is between 7-9 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment

Story
Ryder is a 5-month old pug mix. He is up to date and shots and weighs around 15 lbs. He is fostered in Laurel, MD. Ryder is a sweet guy and loves to play with other dogs. He is an affectionate puppy and loves to climb on your lap for a snuggle or belly rub. This is his favorite spot to relax. Ryder is working on potty training and is doing great. He is a smart puppy, who is very eager to please and learns quickly. Ryder is new to PPR, and we will continue to update as we learn more about him. This lovebug is ready to find his forever home! Please note: You must have a dedicated private space for potty and outdoor exploration. Puppies often need additional immunizations before they are allowed to walk in public spaces. Pup cannot be left alone for more than "4" hours at a time. This is necessary for comfort breaks and much needed socialization for a pup this age. For young puppies that leave unaltered: A refundable $100 spay/neuter deposit for adopters with established spay/neuter history is required. A refundable $200 spay/neuter deposit for adopters without spay/neuter history is required. If interested in adopting please fill out our no obligation online application at www.puppypawsrescue.org Our rescue requires that all adopter's current and prior animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (DHLPP & Rabies) and preventatives (heartworm and flea and tick), unless there is a medical reason not allowing it. All animals in your household should be spayed or neutered unless medically indicated that they should not be or are currently still too young.

Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Charlotte Good with dogs, & kids. NO CATS. Great in kennel. Cautious in beginning with men but once comfortable, very loving. She is still very much getting comfortable with surroundings and will NOT walk on leash so will need a yard while she gets trained. She needs an adopter with patience as she is easily spooked. Charlotte came to the rescue with a broken leg and was pregnant. She was likely hit by a car as her uterus had ruptured and had to be spayed immediately. She has a strong and very sweet spirit and will make someone's family complete. She LOVES kids and is good with other dogs. She has come very far with me in the short time she has been here so I know she will only gain more trust as time goes on. We have no idea what kind of situation she came from other than neglectful, so lets find her the BEST home!! Only the best need apply :) ADOPT DON'T SHOP!!! HER LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!! Local adoption fee is $500 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $800 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Age:4ish Weight: 50lbs Location: East Patchogue, NY 11772 Nicknames: Chubby Bunny Good with other dogs?: No, must be the only dog in the house. She has no problem with other dogs when we take her for walks or other outside adventures. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10 Activity Preference: Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., other: Loves to play fetch outside. Just not for a long time. IQ: Smart Charlie Rose's favorite things: She loves Belly rubs. Sometimes will not come out of bed without them. She also loves to play fetch outside with her pink spikey ball. She enjoys chew toys and her stuffed lama. Charlie Rose is good at: meeting people, staying in a crate, going for car rides, making me feel safe, walking on a leash, cuddling, playing Ideal home: someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard Training Needs: needs obedience training Health issues: Sometimes she seems to have poor eye site. She has seasonal allergies that can be easily kept in check with baths and avoiding chicken. Meet Charlie Rose Charlie Rose aka Chubby Bunny is the best friend you could ask for. She wants to be with her people and will shadow you all over the house. She is happy sleeping on her bed, chewing her bone or playing ball in the yard. In typical bulldog fashion she can be a bit sassy and stubborn and will talk back to you when she has something to say. She is a huge fan of taking baths and riding in the car. She loves any adventure as long as she is with you. Because she loves her people so much she does not want to share and would be best in a single dog household. She is crate trained, great on a leash and will wait patiently and politely for her meals. Some of her favorite food include blueberries and eggs.     PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply! Story
Please contact Debbie (Deb@AmericanbulldogRescue.org) for more information about this pet.  Age: maybe 5 Weight: 55 lbs Location: Philadelphia, PA Nicknames: Winnie pie, Winter Louise, Winta Good with other dogs?: Yes, but with the right personality. Winnie is a bit bossy and a little in love with herself so she sometimes comes across as pushy and overbearing. The best companion for her would be a senior dog who won't care about her antics or a super chill dog who will just blow any pushiness off (like Brutus).Good with cats? Yes, Winnie lives with 3 cats in her foster home. Good with children? Unknown. We think  an adult home would be best. Activity Preference: Will go with the flow, likes car rides, likes walks, playing with her foster brother, naps, no-hides, bones, and stuffies. IQ: Average Winnie’s favorite things: Winnie loves following her foster mom all around the house and backyard, Winnie loves attention, a bone, her toys, and being told how pretty she is! Winnie is good at: staying in a crate, behaving in the house, walking on a leash, riding in a car,  cuddling, following commands, being a good girl! Ideal home: quiet environment, a fenced yard, while she could live with the right dog, she would probably prefer to be your only one true love. Training Needs: Winnie would benefit by continued practice with socialization with people and dogs Health issues: Winnie does seem to have some seasonal allergies. But nothing extensive. She takes Benadryl and claritin. She also has dry eye as a result of having untreated entropion for so long. She requires drops twice a day for the dry eye. Meet Winnie: She will greet you with barks that lead into flopping herself on the floor at your feet belly-up waiting for pets!  Then, she will bring you a toy, usually for tug-o-war.  At times, Winnie is a vocal young lady and is not shy about it.  She would probably be so happy to be the only dog in your home but does get along with her young, silly, canine foster brother.  When first meeting a new dog she can seem overly pushy so she would need a dog who can ignore that and balance out her pushiness.  She is currently living with Brutus (also available for adoption) and they get along great! Brutus even has Winnie running around the back yard! We love that for her! A typical day with Winnie starts with her expressing how hungry she is while you prepare her food after breakfast it is pretty much snoozing, potty breaks, a chew stick, and maybe some play time with one of her human fosters or with Brutus! When it gets close to dinner, Winnie will give reminders that it's almost time to eat! Then it's more playtime until it's time for bed! If you have hard surface flooring you'll hear Winter's signature shuffle that sounds like she's wearing slippers. Winnie is an absolute delight! She's an easy girl with so much personality! However, she doesn't show that to just anybody, you have to earn it. It takes Winnie a little bit to warm up to new people.  The best thing to do when meeting her is to totally ignore her and after a little while she will be your very best friend! It is so worth that little extra room she needs in the beginning. Once she bonds with you, you'll receive so much love and your heart will melt when you catch her gazing at you so lovingly.  Winnie has so much love to give and deserves the same in return.  PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application.
