Story
Ollie is a 7-year-old, 18-pound Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) who is as sweet as they come! This adorable little guy loves everyone he meets and is happiest when he’s close to his people. Whether he’s following his foster around the house, cuddling up on a warm lap, or going for a stroll, Ollie’s loving and loyal nature shines through. Ollie enjoys a good walk and does well on a leash. He also loves spending time in the yard, though he’s perfectly content just hanging out in the house. His favorite activities include lounging, snacking (he’s on a little diet to shed a few pounds!), and chewing occasionally on a bully stick. He’s a pro at “sit” and gives the best kisses. This friendly and adaptable pup gets along great with dogs of all sizes and genders. While he hasn’t been exposed to children, his foster believes he’d do well with respectful kids. He is housetrained, tolerates the crate (though it’s not his favorite), and sleeps soundly in his foster’s bed. Ollie would thrive in a home with someone who is around often, as he loves to be near his person. He’s not destructive when left alone but may sit by the door waiting patiently for your return. All this sweet boy needs is a loving home with a lap to sit on, some snacks to enjoy, and a person to adore. He will thrive in a home with a canine companion. Ollie’s sister, Violet, is also looking for her forever home! While we would love for them to be adopted together, they can be adopted separately if needed. Are you ready to give Ollie (and maybe Violet, too!) the forever home they deserve? Ollie's minimum adoption fee is $100, plus a $15 fee for rabies registration if you are a McLean County resident. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Violet is a 7-year-old, 19-pound Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) mix with a heart full of love and a gentle, loyal spirit. This absolute sweetheart adores following her foster around, curling up in a warm lap, and sharing kisses. Though she may be a bit shy at first, it doesn’t take long for Violet to warm up and show her playful, happy side. Violet enjoys long walks and does beautifully on a leash. She also loves spending time in the yard, playing with other dogs, and chewing on the occasional bully stick. Like her brother Ollie, she has a healthy appetite and is currently on a little diet to shed a few pounds. She knows “sit,” is housetrained, and, while she tolerates the crate, much prefers to sleep in bed with her foster. This adaptable girl is great with dogs of all sizes and genders and has done well with both men and women. Though she hasn’t been around children, her foster believes she’d likely do well with respectful kids. Violet would thrive in a home where she can be close to her person, soaking up all the love and attention she can get. Violet’s brother, Ollie, is also looking for his forever home! While we would love for them to be adopted together, they can be adopted separately if needed. If you’re looking for a devoted, loving companion (or two!), Violet is ready to bring endless joy to your life. Violet's minimum adoption fee is $100, plus a $15 fee for rabies registration if you are a McLean County resident. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
We look forward to your response in regards for this delightful gentleman, but when you do, please use our application at sparrowdogs.com, or tell us a bit about yourself please. Meet Otto, he is perhaps a Pugchi, part Pug and part Chihuahua. We think the Pug genes gave him his love for the sedentary life, appetite and some girth. His Chihuahua side of the family tossed in a little bit of spice into that mix and gave him just a dash of attitude. He is a man of leisure. He enjoys a fine meal and a soft bed. He prefers his blankets swirled around his portly frame. Occasionally his face will poke out, just for a sniff, perhaps there is a snack headed his way?? Or...one of the other foster dogs might need his stern guidance if things are getting a little willy nilly. He does not suffer fools lightly.(lol) Well, with that said, that is the reputation Otto tries to uphold. He wouldn't want anyone to know that he really has a fun side, ya know! He can be a little cantankerous on occasion, but all that amounts to is a few grumbles. He wouldn't want to admit it, but he has had a lot of fun running around with the playful dogs in the yard. Even at 8-9 years old, he can be a spunky guy. Otto enjoys spending his time relaxing on a soft bed. He is looking for a more laid back home, and one that will understand that he may need a little time to get to know you. He will do well in a a dog savvy home that understands that it takes time to develop some relationships, and those can be the best ones!! He can be fine with kids, but we think perhaps teens, no little guys. Otto is fine with women, but really prefers men, he would like a buddy to hang around with. Story
Rudy is a 2.5 year old, 45lb terrier/pug mix looking for his new home! He loves to walk around investigating the grounds and rolling around in the grass. He has great form with summersaults too. Rudy is a nervous dog who will need a less busy home with plenty of patience. We think it would be best for him to have a home with 1-2 people he can adjust to. We would love to find someone with experience with nervous dogs as he needs consistency and routines so he can comfortably expect what is coming. Once Rudy starts to feel safe, he will ready to give all his love! He is always rolling over for belly rubs from staff or giving a hug. This sweet guy just needs a safe place to land. Rudy doesn't seem to mind other chill dogs. He hasn't been interested in playing with other dogs but does fine hanging out around them or going for walks.
