Story
Violet is a 7-year-old, 19-pound Chug (Chihuahua/Pug) mix with a heart full of love and a gentle, loyal spirit. This absolute sweetheart adores following her foster around, curling up in a warm lap, and sharing kisses. Though she may be a bit shy at first, it doesn’t take long for Violet to warm up and show her playful, happy side. Violet enjoys long walks and does beautifully on a leash. She also loves spending time in the yard, playing with other dogs, and chewing on the occasional bully stick. Like her brother Ollie, she has a healthy appetite and is currently on a little diet to shed a few pounds. She knows “sit,” is housetrained, and, while she tolerates the crate, much prefers to sleep in bed with her foster. This adaptable girl is great with dogs of all sizes and genders and has done well with both men and women. Though she hasn’t been around children, her foster believes she’d likely do well with respectful kids. Violet would thrive in a home where she can be close to her person, soaking up all the love and attention she can get. Violet’s brother, Ollie, is also looking for his forever home! While we would love for them to be adopted together, they can be adopted separately if needed. If you’re looking for a devoted, loving companion (or two!), Violet is ready to bring endless joy to your life. Violet's minimum adoption fee is $100, plus a $15 fee for rabies registration if you are a McLean County resident. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
