Story
Rudy is a 2.5 year old, 45lb terrier/pug mix looking for his new home! He loves to walk around investigating the grounds and rolling around in the grass. He has great form with summersaults too. Rudy is a nervous dog who will need a less busy home with plenty of patience. We think it would be best for him to have a home with 1-2 people. We would love to find someone with experience with nervous dogs. He needs consistency and routines so he can comfortably expect what is coming. Once Rudy starts to feel safe, he will ready to give all his love! He is always rolling over for belly rubs from staff or giving a hug. This sweet guy just needs a safe place to land.

Story
We have had both Lois and Clarke (brother and sister) for about 5 years. Lois loves people and to be scratched, but she is shy at first. She likes hanging outside and checking out the neighborhood. She can be a little shy and uncertain of people at first, but once she warms to someone, she is very friendly. Lois and Clarke never really got along with each other; they occasionally fight because they are not good at sharing, though that has gotten better over the years. When we take them to be boarded, we always get positive reviews and generally it seems like she gets along OK with other dogs once she is used to them. She is good with our kids and can get pretty energetic and playful. Overall though, they would probably be happier in separate homes, though other pets might be OK after some adjustment. In general, we are looking for a new home because our new young one is allergic to dogs.

Story
Coco is being fostered in PA and has some vision. Coco is a very, very sweet girl whose favorite pastime is napping. She loves being scratched just about anywhere by her human and is a very go-with-the-flow girl, being great with people of all ages. She is wonderful with other dogs and cats if they do not get right in her face. Even then, she'll just give them a sharp bark to try to get them to leave. Her high-strung, young, maltipoo foster brother is NOT her favorite at all. She is a champion sleeper and often needs to be awakened to eat her breakfast and dinner. She will not indicate a need to go outside but is very aware that outside means "potty time" and she gets right down to business. She has trimmed down quite a bit and should still lose a few pounds, but she is moving much better since losing the 7 pounds she has. She loves being outside to sniff around and to just sit and sniff. She is not a fan of leash walks and will simply sit after a couple minutes. If you are looking for a sweet, well-behaved

Story
Meet Beau – Your Energetic, Playful, and Happy-Go-Lucky Chi-Pug! Beau is a Chihuahua-Pug mix with lots of energy and a heart full of love! He’s playful, happy, and loves being around people. His cheerful and easygoing nature makes him the perfect companion for someone looking for a fun, energetic pup to brighten their days. Like all puppies, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Beau important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Beau is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption donation is $600..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Beau wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! I F INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate for Beau, please fill out an application for his adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at: RescueTailsAnimalWelfare@gmail.com. If you aren’t looking to adopt but still would like to help Beau, please consider a donation for his food, housing, and veterinary care. Story
Hi, my name is Honey. I'm about 1.5 year old Bull Dog /Pit Bull mix. I am looking for my forever home or foster to adopt home. My current foster family is going to be relocating soon, and I am looking for my forever family. Let me share what my ideal home would look like: an active family that will continue my training and give me regular walks. My new family will give me expectations and structure. I would also love a fur companion that likes to play. You see, I don't have a long list, but these are things that will help with my happy energy. I am housebroken and crate trained. I love to cuddle and be with my people. I do walk nicely on a leash, but sometimes I do pull when I see rabbits, squirrels, or another doggie I would want to play with. I get along with other dogs. I would do better with children 10 or older as I get excited and don't want to knock down smaller children.. I am current on my vetting- spayed, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, bordatella, negative fecal, negative heartworm, negative Lyme, and Erlichia. If you are interested in meeting me please go to the website www.atailof4paws.org and fill out the application. Your one application away from meeting me.

Story
Meet Audie! He was guessed to have been born in December 2023. He hasn't had the best start in life, but you would never know. This resilient soul was found on the side of the road in Texas- severely injured at only a few weeks old. Alone and in pain. It is suspected Audie was hit by a car and sustained multiple fractures to his pelvis and his femurs. Audie had a severe right femur fracture surgically repaired and a subsequent tibia fracture and he is getting around wonderfully! There is a possibility down the line that he may need a FHO surgery on his left side, but the orthopedic vet says it all depends on if he seems to be in discomfort - and so far you wouldn't know anything was every wrong with him. Potential adopters will need to understand and agree to take on that responsibility. We did a DNA test on him and he is 51% Boston Terrier, 43% Schnauzer, and 6% Poodle. He is estimated to be about 20 lbs full grown. He gets along with other dogs, cats, and kids, but due to his previous injuries he needs to be in a relatively quiet and calm household to prevent re-injury. He will need training from scratch, but he has a good handle on crate training. Audie's adoption donation of $495 helps to cover the cost of his medical care (well in excess of $2500). Application, reference checks, and home visit required. Adopters must live 1.5 hours driving distance from Romeoville, IL For more information on adopting, please email us at info@perfectpooches.org. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the Adoption Process tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (age appropriate), fecal tested and/or dewormed, and microchipped.
