Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Meet Hootie Cutie Patootie! She is currently 9 pounds, 9 weeks old, and we think she may be a Boston Terrier mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. This stunning little girl is sure to turn heads. But Hootie is not just another pretty face - this tiny pup packs a personality punch that can’t be beat. Hootie is the very definition of playful puppy, and loves, loves, LOVES chew toys. We think she needs at least fourteen, to start. This outgoing and affectionate little pup is quite the social butterfly too - she will make fast friends with everyone she meets. Hootie loves to snuggle too, so get your lap and a soft fluffy bed ready for her. Like most puppies, Hootie is treat-motivated, and we think this bodes really well for future training - we can’t wait to see all that this clever pup will learn!
