Story
Meet Dot - this beautiful pug lady is estimated 6 to 8 years old. She was picked up as a stray by a shelter in Southern California and transported to us because of the poor condition she was in. Dot was in terrible shape, emaciated with cataracts caused by untreated diabetes. After several months in our rescue she is now in wonderful shape. Her blood work looks great, her diabetes is easily managed with a shot 2x a day with her meals, and she’s otherwise a healthy and happy gal. Dot is funny, playful, loving and smart. Her reduced vision and diabetes does not change who she is as a companion. She’s the pinnacle of pug!! Her insulin costs $20/a month and is simple to keep up on. While many people may feel intimidated by her diabetes, it’s a simple thing to manage in dogs (very different from diabetes in humans). We’re hopeful someone will see how incredible this puggy girl is and want to be her forever home. She’s still so kind and trusting even after all the neglect she has suffered.

Story
Rizzi Roo is a Miniature Dachshund/Pug mix. She is 10 years old (birthday 12/10/2014) and weighs around 15 lbs. She is very friendly and will bark at newcomers at first but quickly settles down and wants to be petted and loved. She is quite active and runs around our property and enjoys walks (great on leash). Rizzi loves to play with her stuffed toys, chomp on a chewy, lay in the sun, and snuggle up with you. She has had regular vet care, vaccines and preventatives as well as yearly dentals. She is a spunky little love bug who does well with both women and men but does prefer women.
