Story
Meet Twinkie, the ultimate lap warmer! She is an approximately 3 year old Pug / Chihuahua mix about 15 lbs and is a quiet, friendly, happy-go-lucky bundle of joy, always ready for adventures or snoozes. She was turned into AFC with Julia and Louie. She's drama-free, full of love, and perfectly pint-sized. Think Pug personality in a Chihuahua package - a great mix! Good with dogs and people of all sizes. To meet or hear more about this sweet roll fill out an application .She loves the teen age girl in her foster home.. She is VERY food/treat driven, as are most pugs!) Completely potty trained, no accidents so far uses the doggie door. If you work from home she and stays in my office with me and the other dogs during the day. Wish every foster could be like her. Twinkie is scheduled to be spayed is current on vaccinations and will be micro-chipped. She will be a wonderful, loving companion. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link. NAME:Sandra Dee aka SandySTATS:Female, Pug/Chi mix, 3ish years, 10 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Friendly.Shy at first and warms up.Active (puppy energy).Breed needs air conditioning* (see note below)SKILLSPotty trained.Crate trained.Leash trained.Good with children.Good with dogs.Has not been exposed to cats.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Couch cuddler.Likes walks.Likes playing with other dogs.Would benefit from Basic Training Class.ONE LAST THING:Sandy is very lovable! She loves being around people and other dogs. She would do well with children over 7. She loves to play, but doesn't mind hanging out with you in bed snuggling. She is active and likes walks around the neighborhood and then may come in and do zoomies around the room :). She's potty trained and great in a crate. Would do well with basic training class.Because Sandy is a pug mix she has a shorter nasal cavity and can overheat more easily than longer-snout pups. Breed needs air conditioning.November 7, 2024, 2:27 pm

Story
Watch out world, here comes Lola! Lola is estimated to be around 2-3 months old and is the cutest bundle of fun. She is a total social butterfly who is eager to make friends wherever she goes. She is the perfect mix of puppy enthusiasm and snuggle energy all in one. She currently weighs about 6lbs and we estimate she will be around 25lbs when fully grown. Lola was found as a stray in a park with her friend, Lucy. A kind family took them in, and after not being able to locate an owner, reached out to us to help get them adopted. We secured a foster home for the girls and they have been thriving ever since. We think the girls possibly are related but are from different litters. We are looking for separate homes for them so that they can get the one-on-one training they need. Lola is such a blast to be around and she makes sure there is no shortage of fun when she enters a room.  She loves to play and will keep you on your feet with her goofy antics. She is a little busybody who would thrive with an active family. She is very food-motivated but has a short puppy attention span and is still learning all her basic manners. She needs a family dedicated to continuing her training. Lola loves other dogs and we think she would do best in a home with another playful dog so she always has someone to wrestle with. We haven't seen Lola around cats, but she may do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Lola could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years or older. Lola has been doing great with her housetraining but still is learning and her family will need to be patient with her and expect accidents while she is learning. Lola has done well being in a crate at night and when her foster family is gone. She hasn't spent any time truly alone since she has always been with Lucy, so she would do best with a family who has the time to slowly acclimate her to being alone. Lola is such an amazing puppy and we know she is going to bring so much happiness to the right family. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Lola's adoption fee is $400.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. November 26, 2024, 3:46 pm
