Story
Hello, my name is "Rocky" and I got my name because I am a studly little boy who just loves to love you and play with everybody and everything. My sister and I were in a home for 7 months but due to family illness they had to give us back to Sparky and the gang. While we would love to stay together, we also can be separated and still be very happy and bring much joy to your house. I've got a lot of pug in me, but don't worry I'm a really good boy. They call be handsome behind my back. I think that is a really good word?

Story
Snowman, our longest resident, has been with us for over a year and a half. Day after day, he watches his friends find their homes, always wondering, “When will it be my turn?”To be completely transparent, Snowman was briefly adopted after he first arrived, but things didn’t work out. He has very clear boundaries that were pushed in his adoptive home, and as a result, he bit someone. So yes, Snowman has a bite history, and he’s not the kind of dog who wants his limits tested. But here’s the thing—he’s not unpredictable. He gives warning signs, and he’s clear about what makes him uncomfortable. Sudden movements? No, thanks. Men? Not really his thing. Strangers? Also a hard pass.We know this may not sound like the easiest sell, but it’s the truth, and it’s something to consider. Snowman has likely been let down before. He was originally found as a stray, and while we don’t know much about his past, it seems like kindness from humans has been rare in his life. But for the right person—someone patient and understanding—Snowman has so much love to give. The way to his heart? WALKS and TREATS. He absolutely loves going on long strolls, and the funny thing is, his stranger danger disappears when he’s out and about. If you take him on a walk or two, he’ll start seeing you as a friend. And food? Let’s just say Snowy has made a few friends over snacks—his little extra fluff proves it! Once he trusts you, he’s all about belly rubs and cuddles.Snowman prefers women over men and would do best in a quiet, adult-only home without a lot of unexpected visitors. His protectiveness seems to be the root of most of his reactivity, but we believe he’s smart and capable of learning with the right training and environment. One thing he has no issues with? Other dogs! He does great with them, enjoys dog parks and the beach, and loves playing with his stuffed animals. Oh, and fun fact: we did a DNA test, and Snowman is about 60% Pug, 20% Chihuahua, and a mix of Poodle and Cocker Spaniel. He’s a special boy who just needs a safe place to land and someone willing to love him for who he is. Could that be you? Inquire today!

Story
Paso's journey hasn't been easy, but he's a resilient dog with a heart full of untapped potential. Found as a stray and brought to a shelter, Paso faced several challenges, including seizures and reactivity towards shelter staff.Recognizing Paso's need for specialized care, the shelter reached out to us. While he was initially reactive with us too, after being with us for nearly a year now and with plenty of time to decompress and adapt, Paso has become a staff favorite! While he still has some anxiety about meeting new people, given time and patience, he warms up beautifully.Paso's seizure disorder is managed with medication, though he experiences occasional break-through seizures which is normal for his condition. An MRI confirmed he has idiopathic epilepsy, so he will need lifelong medication. His future adopter should be prepared to maintain a close relationship with their vet.Paso's journey has left him with some emotional scars, including a bite history. He needs a patient and understanding person to help him heal and build trust. Due to his history of reactivity, Paso cannot be placed in a home with children.Paso is social and does well with other dogs, especially puppies. He loves showing them how to play and cuddle.Paso is very food motivated and eagerly anticipates mealtime, singing and jumping in excitement. He's also a treat sleuth, so keep an eye on your stash! While Paso's journey has been difficult, he is worth every ounce of effort. With your love, patience, and dedication, Paso can bloom into the loving, faithful companion he's meant to be. If you are that special person willing to give Paso the second chance he deserves, please inquire today!

Story
Sir Charles has had a rough past, and it shows. He wasn’t properly trained, socialized, or loved, and as a result, he carries some deep emotional scars. He’s been overlooked time and time again—he was originally found as a stray and taken to a city shelter. He was then briefly adopted, but then quickly returned to the shelter by his, and then passed over when a second adoption fell through. After spending a month at the shelter, he was in danger of being put down, so he then came to us, and now, eight months later, not a single person has seriously inquired about him.We won’t sugarcoat it—Sir Charles has his challenges. He has a strong-willed, “alpha” personality, doesn’t always get along with other dogs, and can be unpredictable. He struggles with sudden movements, change, and unfamiliar situations, so he’s not the kind of dog you can take out to eat or shopping. He thrives on structure, routine, and predictability. He’s also very energetic and has a possessive streak when it comes to his toys, making a home without children or other pets the best fit for him.But despite his challenges, we know there’s potential in Sir Charles. He needs an adopter who is fully committed to his training, socialization, and emotional decompression—someone who won’t give up on him when things get tough. With patience, structure, and the right environment, he has a chance to build confidence, open up, and become the dog he was meant to be.At around four years old, Sir Charles still has plenty of time to grow and learn. He needs someone who sees past his rough edges and is ready to put in the work to help him succeed. If you’re up for the challenge and willing to help Sir Charles shine, please inquire today!

Story
Hi there! My name's Hondo! I was once a wandering soul out there as a stray, and let me tell you, it was a scary world! I ended up at the dog pound, scared and in rough shape with some cuts and scrapes, but thankfully, I found my way to this rescue. Now, I’m all ready to find my forever family, and I can’t wait to meet you!I’m about 6 years old, and while I may have been a little nervous when I first arrived (new things can be a bit scary!), I’ve since found my groove, and my true personality is shining through! I’m sweet, love to cuddle, and I give the best kisses. I may need a bit of time to warm up to new people or environments, but once I do, I’m your loyal buddy!I’m active, too! My foster says I’m full of energy and can keep up with plenty of walks, so an active owner who can take me on daily walks and give me time to play is exactly what I need. I love my walks, and after we go out, I’m always ready to play some more—whether it’s tossing my lambchop toy around or running around the house. I get so much joy from being active! I also walk great on a leash! When it comes to other dogs, I’m a bit more selective. I can be a little overwhelming in large groups or with other dogs that have a different energy than mine, and I’ve stirred the pot a bit at the rescue. I’ve been doing well with other dogs in my foster home, but I think I’d do best as the only dog in my forever home or with a dog that can match my energy level. I’m just a guy who likes things on my own terms sometimes!Another thing to keep in mind is that I’m not the best fit for a home with young children. I can be a little reactive to new people, so a calm, adult home would be ideal for me. I just need a little more space and patience to really feel comfortable in new situations. But, let me tell you, when I’m comfortable, I’m a total sweetie pie. I’m loyal, loving, and full of spunk. I’m also a velcro-pug who loves being near you. I’ll want to curl up on the bed and snuggle as much as I can, and I’ll always be by your side. I’d be perfect for someone who’s retired but loves staying active, or maybe someone who works from home and can give me all the attention I crave. I’ve shown a bit of separation anxiety, so I’ll need a patient family who can help me feel secure when you're away. I’ll need someone who can stick with me while I settle in, especially since I get a little anxious when left alone for long periods. So, if you're looking for a snuggly, active, and super loving buddy who knows exactly what he wants, I'm your guy! Please inquire about me today!Love, Hondo!

Story
Meet Bentley, a charming 10-year-old gentleman who is looking for a loving forever home. Bentley's previous owner had to move to a memory care facility, and her daughter has been taking care of him since. Unfortunately, she isn't able to keep him long-term, so we are hoping to find Bentley a new family to share his golden years with.Bentley is up to date on all his shots and is neutered. He has a special fondness for the outdoors, so a home with a yard or a family that enjoys spending time outside would be perfect for him. Bentley might need a little refresher on house training, but with patience and consistency, he'll settle in nicely. This sweet boy gets along well with female dogs and would thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention or have a gentle female companion. Bentley's gentle nature and love for outdoor activities make him an ideal companion for a family looking for a loyal and loving pet.If you're ready to give Bentley the loving home he deserves, please inquire today!
