If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $850   Meet Petunia the Pug – Your Cuddle Buddy Extraordinaire! Petunia is a 1 year old Pug with a personality as adorable as her name. Like her namesake, 'Petunia the Pig,' she’s all about snuggles and lounging – but don’t be fooled, she’s got plenty of pep when it’s time for play!   The Ultimate Lap Dog Petunia is the epitome of a velcro dog, never letting you out of her sight. If you're looking for a dog that will stay by your side, no matter where you go, Petunia’s your girl. Whether you're having breakfast, working from home, or even taking a shower, Petunia is never more than a few feet away. She loves to perch on the couch arm near your desk while you work, just waiting for her next belly rub! A Day in Petunia's Life Petunia wakes up when you do—no early-morning alarms with this laid-back lady. After a quick morning potty break and a stroll around the block, she’s back on the couch, giving you the sweetest puppy-dog eyes while you eat breakfast. Her day consists of following you around the house, taking naps in her favorite spots, and requesting belly rubs during your breaks. At 5 PM, she enjoys another neighborhood walk before settling down for dinner and more snuggles. If you’re late for her final 10 PM potty break, Petunia is clever enough to use the pee pads (although she’s so close to being fully pad-trained!) What Makes Petunia Special? • Loyal & Loving: Petunia takes her time to trust, but once she does, she’ll love you endlessly. She's cautious around new people, especially men, but with patience, she warms up and becomes your most loyal companion. • The Ultimate Lounger: If you love cuddles, Petunia will not disappoint. She’ll curl up next to you or on your lap, purring with happiness whenever you give her scratches. Her low purrs and snuggles are truly therapeutic. • Playful & Sweet: While mostly calm, Petunia gets little bursts of energy—she loves zooming around after her paws are wiped post-walk! She’s incredibly well-behaved, never barking, chewing, or causing trouble. Potty & Training Petunia is house-trained and prefers to potty outside. She knows how to sit and wait when a treat is involved, and she’s learning new commands quickly. Best of all, Petunia has excellent self-restraint—even when tempting treats are left on the table! Who Should Adopt Petunia? Petunia thrives in a home where someone is around most of the time. She does get lonely and will whine or rip up pee pads if left alone for more than an hour, so her ideal family would work from home or have another pet for company. She’s great with other dogs and would love to be a part of a cozy, dog-friendly environment. Petunia’s Perfect for You If... • You work from home or have a flexible schedule. • You love having a loyal, quiet companion by your side 24/7. • You’re looking for a low-maintenance dog who will reward you with love, snuggles, and adorable snores (yes, you’ll hear them during Zoom meetings!). Ready to Meet Petunia? If you’re looking for a loving, low-maintenance lap dog who will fill your days with warmth and cuddles, Petunia is the one for you. Don’t miss out on this perfect pug – reach out to meet her today!Petunia is an option for a home that has had a dog or at least a wide variety of dog experience. If there are children they need to be over the age of 10.       November 9, 2024, 2:15 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $850   Amelia Bedelia is a 1 year old Pug who’s ready to make all of your childhood literary dreams come true! Amelia was rescued from the shelter that reached out due to overcrowding. We agreed to scoop her up and start the next chapter of her wonderful life. While we don’t know much about her life before we rescued her, we know that she’s grabbed her second chance by the paws and doesn’t plan to let it go! Amelia weighs 10 pounds and is the perfect size for a home ready for love and cuddles. She quickly became a rescue favorite and we know she’ll be your perfect pal as well! We will prioritize applications who have experience with the flat-faced breeds. If you’ve ever dreamed of bringing home the best dog in the entire world, we promise that you’ve met your perfect next read with Amelia Bedelia!      Amelia is a happy-go-lucky, affectionate little lady who makes herself the star of any room she enters. She immediately made herself comfortable in her foster home, rolling over onto her belly for scratches. Amelia is super playful and adores other dogs. She would love a playful, energetic sibling in her forever home, or a family ready to help her get her zoomies out! Amelia is so friendly she doesn’t even understand that the senior resident dog isn’t her biggest fan, she just keeps happily trying to make him love her! Amelia isn’t a velcro dog, but she does love attention and would thrive in a home ready to spend their days making memories with her. Amelia is always ready for a nap on the couch with you, or a romp to the local park. She’s super flexible like that and basically just lives her life ready for whatever the day brings! Amelia loevs her toys and collects them on a pile her in her bed. She loves bones and is so goofy as she drags them across the living room to add to her stash. What a little character this girl is! Amelia is the perfect blend of temperament: laid back when you want to rest but ready to play when you’re ready to hang out! Plus, for those who love Pugs and their various noises, this girl will be the best white noise snoring machine on the market for you! According to her foster, Amelia is the most well-adjusted foster dog she has ever had. She loves doing everything with her people and honestly what more could you ask for in a furry friend! Whenever our long-term fosters rave about their foster dogs, we know that we’ve got someone special! Amelia makes every day brighter with her positive spirit and her happy personality and we know this stellar girl will make your life complete!  Amelia wakes up at 7 AM with her foster home and heads right outside to potty in the yard. She is more of a grazer with her food, so she nibbles at her kibble throughout the day whenever the desire occurs to her. Amelia gets two walks during the day, one around lunchtime and the second in the early evening. She’s always happy to wiggle her way down the block and greet all the sights of the neighborhood! She spends her days snoozing on her soft beds, playing with her toys, hanging with her foster siblings, and soaking up cuddles. She’s always on the lookout for an extra treat or a sneak attack kiss! In the evening when her foster parents finish their workdays, Amelia gets all the scratches her belly could ever ask for as she watches TV and catches up on her cartoons. Amelia goes out for one more potty at 9:30 PM and then gets tucked into her bed for the night with her favorite blanket. Amelia currently lives with a senior small dog who tolerates her presence, but she would love a playful canine companion in her forever home. Amelia adores people of all ages, standing up on her hind paws to greet all humans she comes across. She is always eager to sniff another dog on her daily walks in an attempt to make a new best friend for life. Amelia is working on her house training and has made amazing progress in the last few weeks. Amelia would be well suited for a home ready to shower her in love and affection just like she deserves. We know that everyone will be clamoring for our Amelia Bedelia, so come on down and meet her!    Amelia Bedelia is an option for homes who have owned a dog in their lifetime. Pug-experienced homes will be prioritized.  Kids in the home should be over the age of 8. November 11, 2024, 11:33 pm

Story
FOSTER CARE! Hi, I'm Hagrid! I'm a 2 year old, neutered pug/terrier mix that currently weighs about 35lbs. I'm a happy, silly, confident dog with a lot of energy! I enjoy running and playing with people and dogs alike, so I would love to go home with an active family. I'm also a big fan of belly rubs! Because I'm still working on my manners around food and small animals, I'd do best in an adults-only home. I can't wait to go home to a family that will continue my training so I can become the best pup I can be. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Hagrid! ID# A924198 Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing behavior@phs-spca.org You may also submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. You must be 18 or older to submit a profile.  Application: https://phs-spca.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AdoptionProfiles_dog2023_fillin.pdf *The application may not work on mobile devices and iPads.
