Story
Have you heard the phrase, a face only a mother could love? Well, let us introduce you to the inspiration for it. Meet Guppy! This little guy may not have won the genetics lottery, but what he lacks in looks he makes up for in charm. He could be a pug mix, he could not be. Perhaps bulldog? Only a DNA test will reveal the truth. Do we really know his age? Could he be 2 or 7, who is to say? He was born without his right eye, has a uniquely shaped head, a major underbite, and an endearing wobbly walk. He came to us from the California Central Valley with a few other pugs after his owner went into a nursing home without a care plan. Guppy is looking for a home where he can chew on toys, lounge the day away, and follow his person like a shadow. Hes crate-trained, and while hes still working on potty training, a consistent routine will help him get back on track after being shuffled around these last few weeks. He's good with confident cats and dogs of all sizes, but we suspect he would be happy as an only-dog, too. If youre searching for a quirky, one-of-a-kind companion, Guppy just might be the pug for you! He's being fostered in Rohnert Park through The Pug Hotel.

Story
Meet Jeffrey (or as his foster parents call him, Jeffy)! Are you looking for a new best bud? A professional cuddle pal? Your go-to guy? Your short-walk-on-the-beach companion? Your tiny, snorting shadow? Well, have we got the gentleman for you. Jeffy is about four years old and came to us as an owner surrender along with two other pugs after their owner fell on hard times and could no longer care for them. When our friends at @pughotel took them in for us, all three were in pretty rough shape. But after plenty of baths, flea treatment, and lots of TLC, theyre already looking so much better. Jeffy is currently being fostered with a pit bull, another pug, and a cat and he truly could not care less about any of them. His real dream is to be carried around like a baby by you. You may want to start strengthening your back (or invest in a baby carrier) if you plan to keep this funny little guy happy. Once he settles in and learns the lay of the land, Jeffy will happily be your companion in everything you do. His favorite activities include gazing lovingly at you, following you from room to room, accepting treats for being a very good boy, and being held like a baby while you watch TV. Hes currently working on his potty and crate training and will need a patient adopter who understands that his whole world was recently turned upside down. Jeffy deserves a loving home thats willing to give him time, consistency, and kindness as he adjusts. Jeffy is being fostered in Sacramento and is scheduled to be neutered and get a dental cleaning on Monday, March 23. Hell also be vaccinated and microchipped, so hell be all set for his next chapter.

Story
This sweet, gentle little guy came to us from a Central Valley shelter, where he had been found as a stray. We estimate he is about 12 years old, but he is calmer than many young pugs. Scottie loves napping on the back of the couch like a cat, getting belly rubs, and greeting you with the cutest pug snorts when you come home. He is wonderful with adults and children, unfazed by other animals, and is doing great with potty training. He also happily goes into his crate for naps. Scottie was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and has had three seizures while in our care. Our veterinarian started him on Keppra, a medication he will take three times a day to help prevent future episodes. With this medication, dogs typically live happy, full lives. Scottie is a petite pug who can easily fly, though we are only comfortable with short flights at this time for him.. He will be neutered on Monday, March 16 and is vaccinated and microchipped. If you are looking for a sweet, loving pug who gets along with everyone, Scottie might be your guy.

Story
Say hello to Remy and that adorable little tongue! Its always peeking out because Remy has no teeth (more on that below), and it only adds to her charm. Remy is a four-year-old pug who came to us as an owner surrender and is now looking for her forever home. Remy is affectionate, smart, and already knows her basic commands (and some fun ones!) Shes fully potty trained and loves nothing more than being close to her people. Right now, shes a bit unsure about the changes in her life and bonds quickly, but that just means she has an incredible amount of love to give. A true velcro pug, Remy wants to be by your side and go everywhere with you. Shes an active girl who enjoys playtime and exercise, especially a good game of fetch (though shes still working on the drop it part). Remy enjoys walks, sniffing around, and soaking up the sunshine. She would do best with someone experienced in leash training, as she can be reactive to large dogs while on leash. While she generally gets along with other dogs, she does show some resource guarding, so thoughtful introductions and guidance are important. Shes been around cats and young kids, but she may thrive best in a home without them. Remy would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time to provide the consistency, reassurance, and companionship she needs right now. All of Remys teeth were removed when she was young due to some malformations, so she eats softened kibble and absolutely loves her veggies. Bonus: no dental cleanings needed! She has no health issues other than the one that was resolved with the teeth pulling. Her previous family decided to rehome her after welcoming a baby and no longer having the time she deserves. Remy is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and shes currently being fostered in San Francisco. Shes ready to give her whole heart to a family who will cherish her forever.

Story
Meet Theo! This gentle boy, who we estimate to be about 7 years old, came to us from a Central Valley shelter, just like many of our dogs. When he arrived, he had a severe eye injury and needed surgery to remove his right eye. We also discovered that he has very limited vision in his left eye. But like most blind dogs, Theo doesnt let that slow him down one bit. Theo is potty trained, loves curling up in a cozy bed, and learns the layout of a home and yard surprisingly quickly. He has the sweetest, most easygoing personality and is happy to meet anyone and everyone. He even has a special superpower. If you clap your hands, Theo will come right to you. He loves applause and will happily follow the sound straight to his people, knowing he is loved. Theo walks nicely on leash, but his favorite activity is stretching out in a warm patch of sunshine. Hes wonderful with kids of all ages and is gentle enough to share his foster home with a young kitten. Theo is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and his eye has healed beautifully. He has so much love to give and is simply looking for a family who will see the wonderful dog he is.

Meet Gizmo! This happy little guy is about 5 years old and makes the sweetest companion. Hes affectionate, curious, social, and loves being around his people. Hes doing great with potty training and really thrives on a routine. Gizmo gets along well with other dogs, enjoys going on walks, and is starting to have fun exploring the world outside. But his favorite place? Your lap. The moment you sit down, hes right there, ready to curl up and soak up all the belly rubs. Gizmo came to us as an owner surrender with two other pugs when their owner fell upon hard times and did not have the time or resources to care for the dogs. Hes doing perfectly fine without the two other dogs! All three of them are appreciating the proper nutrition and vet care they deserve. Hell be ready for adoption after March 23, and hell have just had a dental cleaning. Hes neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped and being fostered in Oakland, CA.
