Story
Hello! My name is Patrick.  Here is some information about me: Breed: Pug Mix Age: I year old Gender: Male Weight: 17 lbs Height: TBD Highlights: People oriented, smart, playful Hi there! My name’s Patrick, and I’m a 1-year-old pug mix who’s been on quite the journey. Not long ago, I was wandering the streets of California, all alone. I ended up in a high-kill shelter, and honestly, it was a scary place. My chances weren’t looking good, especially with this itchy skin condition on my back. But then, my luck changed! The amazing humans at LALDR saw something special in me and brought me to safety. Now I’m living the good life with my foster family in Maple Ridge, and let me tell you, it’s a dream come true! They’ve been so kind, giving me daily baths with medicated shampoo (it’s like a spa day!), feeding me the most delicious and healthy meals, and showering me with cuddles and belly rubs. I’ve even got my own cozy spot to rest and toys to play with—something I’d never had before! I’m also learning what it really means to be a dog. I get to go on walks every day, sniff around, and make new friends. I love other dogs and think people are just the best. I’ve only been in Canada since January 19th, but already, I can feel how much love is out there for me. Now, I’m looking for my forever family. I’d love a home where I can keep soaking up attention, go on adventures, and keep learning about this fantastic life. If you think we’d be a perfect match, let’s meet! Energy Level:  Moderate Energy I get along with: Dogs: Yes Cats: Unknown Kids: Unknown Fears/Prey Drive:  None observed. Training: Some. Leash Skills: Some. Please be prepared to continue with my training. Housetrained: Yes.  Please assist me in learning where to go in my new home. Health: I am microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, being treated for skin issue which is clearing up.  New family to continue treatment as necessary. Will be neutered in a few weeks time. My adoption fee is $850 CAD plus applicable taxes Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2274965##
