RESCUE STORY - My story is one my rescuers know all too well! My siblings and I were given up by our original “family” when we were just two months old because they didn’t want the burden of taking care of us. An adorable bunch of pugs like us, it’s hard to believe, I know!
While I didn’t receive the best care in my first couple of months, once rescued I was taken straight to the vet and I’m healthy and happy! I’ve been living with my sisters at the shelter ever since, waiting for my happily ever after!
TEMPERAMENT - I am the largest pup of all my sisters and have a reputation for being a bit of a bully with them, hehe! I don’t mean any harm, like a true pug I’m just looking for extra snacks! I’m very food motivated but haven’t shown any signs of resource guarding.
ENERGY LEVEL - Medium to High - I’m a high energy pup and love to play! I especially enjoy being social with hoomans, and doggos too! I looove playing with toys, hanging with my sisters, and even posing for photos like the star that I am! I’m looking for a forever family of my very own so I can get all lovin! What do you say, do you belong with me?!
GETS ALONG WITH:
Kids – Unknown.
Dogs – Absolutely! I spend lots of time with my sisters, and other doggos, at the shelter!
Cats – Unknown.
PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING:
Leash skills – Work in progress. While I am comfortable walking on a leash, I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners (I do tend to pull, and will need some guidance). A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Here is a video of me walking with my sister!
House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)
HEALTH NOTES:
I am spayed (as of August 20th), vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.
I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION FEE:
My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
