Story
Hi there, my name is Frennie and I am a fun, loving blind girlie looking for my next forever home! Though I am completely blind, I am semi independent and I LOVE to learn! Here is a little info about me:Breed: Pug/Jack Russel MixAge: 6 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 9 kgHeight: 39 cmHighlight(s): I am very passionate about life, eager to learn, kind to my people and semi independent!Hello Beautiful Humans, My name is Frennie. I am such a lovely girl but unfortunately my original family was not as in love with me as I was with them. I was very young when I saw them last. All I remember is that at approximately 1 years old they took me to the vet to get my eyes checked and abandoned me there. I guess not being able to see was hard on them too!The lovely humans at the vet where I was left contacted a shelter and the owner came and picked me up! They were so kind to give me a chance without even knowing me! I must be pretty special. After some time at the shelter, the owner was able to find me a beautiful foster that has cared for me for the past 5 years of my life. Since I am fully blind and small, I cannot be around other dogs, cats or kids as I am afraid something might happen to me. I prefer to be around adults only. So I am a perfect fit if you are either living on your own or with a partner! I am also a quick learner as you can see in my video! I learned how to go down the stairs like a champion and can maneuver around by using my senses!Energy Level: Low-moderateI get along with:Dogs: NoCats: NoKids: NoFears: I am completely blind and need a space that is calm and caring to make me feel safe.Training: Basic, I am a very smart girl - please keep teaching me so we can have a great life!Leash skills: No leash skills yet, however I am a quick learner!House trained: Yes! Health notes: I am fully blind! Outside of that, I am a healthy happy girl.I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $600.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation from the Middle East, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. Thank you for your understanding. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs originally from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2174557##

Story
Hiya! My name is TAYLOR and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Pug Age: 6 months (born Feb 18, 2024) Gender: Female Weight: 15.8 lbs (7.2 kg)  Height: 42 cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 51 cm (head to butt) Neck: 29 cm Current Location: Mexico City RESCUE STORY - My story is one my rescuers know all too well! My siblings and I were given up by our original “family” when we were just two months old because they didn’t want the burden of taking care of us. An adorable bunch of pugs like us, it’s hard to believe, I know!  While I didn’t receive the best care in my first couple of months, once rescued I was taken straight to the vet and I’m healthy and happy! I’ve been living with my sisters at the shelter ever since, waiting for my happily ever after! TEMPERAMENT - I am the largest pup of all my sisters and have a reputation for being a bit of a bully with them, hehe! I don’t mean any harm, like a true pug I’m just looking for extra snacks! I’m very food motivated but haven’t shown any signs of resource guarding.  ENERGY LEVEL - Medium to High - I’m a high energy pup and love to play! I especially enjoy being social with hoomans, and doggos too! I looove playing with toys, hanging with my sisters, and even posing for photos like the star that I am! I’m looking for a forever family of my very own so I can get all lovin! What do you say, do you belong with me?!  GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown.  Dogs –  Absolutely! I spend lots of time with my sisters, and other doggos, at the shelter! Cats – Unknown.    PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress. While I am comfortable walking on a leash, I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners (I do tend to pull, and will need some guidance). A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Here is a video of me walking with my sister! House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed (as of August 20th), vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates. ##2156388##
