Meet Rex, a resilient and loving 2-year-old Presa Canario with a heart as big as his powerful frame! Rex is healing from a recent accident that left him with a broken bone in his front leg, but with dedicated care, he`s nearly back to his active self. Understandably, he`s still a bit nervous around cars, but with patience and positive experiences, he’ll continue to grow more confident.Rex is a breeze to leash up and eager to join you on walks, where he shows good manners overall. He may occasionally be curious about other dogs, especially if they`re barking, but he`s mostly unbothered and calm around them. Stairs are no problem for this guy, though he prefers quieter routes to avoid close encounters with traffic.In the yard, Rex’s affectionate side shines. This big love bug adores snuggles and attention, and he’ll sometimes give a little hop to get closer to you (and, of course, those treats he loves!). He’s still working on commands but shows promise with `sit` and is a quick learner, especially with treats as motivation.Though he’s mostly indifferent to toys, his sweet, gentle nature and love for people make him an exceptional companion. This mixed breed likely has a bunch of genetics in the mix- weimarainer and mastiff might be in there- but it’s just a guess. Shes just over a year old, so she’s got loads of puppy goofy bad-coordination short-attention-span energy to her. She’s a big girl at approx 74 lbs, and a lot of enthusiasm to her, so humans need to be prepared for her initial excitement at the start of every walk. She has a ton of empathy- super curious at all times and very worried when she heard other dogs reacting to things. Shes incredibly sweet girl-a little overstimulated in the shelter- who enjoyed playing with toys and almost kinda sorta brought them back every time. She thought drinking water out of the hose was a really fun activity too. Once we got to know each other, she was a fan of getting pats and scratches and hanging out on the bench with me. I was so happy to get to spend time with Ruth and to see how fabulous she is. I hope the right humans come along and discover her soon- whoever it is will be so lucky to have a wonderfully sensitive, silly, big goof in their life.
