Story
Hello, I have a good dog here, his name is Pup, he is 7 years old, he loves to go on walks, and get his tummy rubbed, however I would be cations of him around children sometimes he snaps at kids and other pets, and also after you give him a bath, set up a place for to go off in air dry, he don’t like to be touch or bothered after a bath or groomed, he needs time to come back around, he is microchipped, and up to date on his shots, other than that he’s a good dog that needs a good owner to be a leader for him

These pups are in Vienna, Virginia too!

Story
Looking for a new home for my young Pomeranian. I don't have the time to train and socialize him properly. He needs a loving home with a patient hand. He has never bitten anyone or other dogs, but barks aggressively. Very sweet to his internal pack. Housebreaking has been a challenge as he is a small dog. He is only 4 lbs but very healthy, my vet says he is the healthiest Pomeranian she has ever seen in her practice.

Story
Meet Big Boy! This awesome pup ended up in a rural county shelter as an adolescent, failed by adopters who were not committed or ready for puppy mode. Their loss will be someone else’s gain. We’ve gotten to know Big Boy and he’s an incredibly sweet, trusting, and good-natured pup. He’s a fun-loving, goofy boy who has maintained a positive outlook on life’s adventures. He loves people and has excellent doggy social skills. Big Boy lucked out when he caught the eye of one of our seasoned SC foster moms, Laine, who also volunteers at the shelter. She wanted to help him, and after seeing him in regular doggy play groups, felt he would fit in well with her pack. Big Boy started his rescue journey being fostered by Laine, Gary, and their pack of three GSDs. He did great there, learned the rules of home life, and did well as part of a pack.  In June, Big Boy came to N. VA to start his new life and is being fostered by our go-to trainer, Alexa. We usually give Alexa pups who need more rehabilitation than a typical foster family can give, and she always does a fabulous job. This time she wanted to foster a fun family dog for a change of pace and Big Boy was perfect. Alexa has two kids, two dogs, and two cats, and Big Boy is respectful to all and has fit in well. He’s such a natural with other dogs, he’s a great playmate for the client dogs Alexa boards and trains. Big Boy is housetrained and crate-trained. He LOVES toys of all kinds, playing chase in the backyard, and frolicking in the resident kiddy pool. He can be vocal when he plays with the other dogs but it’s just his style. He likes to talk to them and knows to respect their boundaries. Big Boy has spurts of energy but can also be chill inside the home…he’s more of a moderate-energy dog who loves to play. We think Big Boy is a Husky mixed with a Greyhound. He’s tall, but has a svelte build and is all legs! Big Boy is an active pup who loves to play and would love a doggie playmate in his new home. Alexa is working on his recall and leash skills.  We checked in with Alexa for a quick update: “Big Boy is such a gem of a dog. He’s a really good boy! He wasn't nervous when he first arrived but needed some guidance. I kept him close by me for the first few days so he could get an understanding of our home and how things work here. After day three, it was like he had been living here his whole life. He’s done great with my kids and the pack. He is super friendly to dogs, people, and cats. He has also met client dogs and had a buddy Bernadoodle stay with us over the holiday week. They did a lot of romping and playing in the yard and he had a blast. He’s a natural with other dogs, very respectful, and takes corrections well from any animal. I think Big Boy needs a fun, active handler, and another dog in the home to play with would be ideal. He makes such a great dog buddy. His leash skills improve every time we go out and he’s so trainable. He really wants to please his person and is very food-motivated. We are really enjoying him!” ********** Big Boy is the full package: &#226&#156&#148Super cute &#226&#156&#148Great doggie and kitty social skills &#226&#156&#148Excellent house manners &#226&#156&#148Kid tested - 6 years and up! &#226&#156&#148Being fostered by a TRAINER = BONUS! Big Boy loves people and dogs alike. He has a natural zest for life, rides well in the car, and loves to go on new adventures. He greets new people well and hasn’t met a dog he doesn’t like. We are looking for fun, active owners for Big Boy. Folks who like to go and do and want a pup buddy to join them. Big Boy will make an excellent sidekick and pup buddy for your current pup. Story
Meet Sassy! We don’t know Sassy’s full story, but she ended up with an owner who had affection for her but was overwhelmed and not equipped to care for her. She had none of her required early shots, was unspayed, and was kept out in the backyard during the day without flea/tick protection. She had chewed and scratched her skin to the point of infection, losing some of her pretty flowy coat. Thankfully, the owner knew he was in over his head and asked one of our local foster moms, Rita, for help. He picked the right person to engage, and Sassy is now officially a Worthy Dog. Sassy has been in her local foster home for about four weeks now, living with two other small senior dogs. She does well as part of a pack but can be a little too playful for the senior dogs in her home, so we think she would love to have a younger dog playmate in her new home. Her foster mom, Rita, has been arranging regular playdates for her, and she has a blast. She does well meeting new dogs and loves playing chase in the backyard. You can just see her joy. Sassy has been fully vetted now, spayed and microchipped, and the skin infections have been addressed. Her gorgeous, flowing coat is filling in. Sassy came from a home with no structure or understanding of dogs, so she needed a little time to learn the basics and rules of home life. We checked in with Rita, who shared this update: “Sassy is very playful with lots of energy. She loves to cuddle and gives lots of kisses. She loves to play with toys, especially her rope toy and is good with other younger dogs that will play with her. She is almost potty trained and fully crate trained - she has never had an accident in her crate Sassy has very good leash skills and loves to go on walks. She is not shy and loves meeting new people and other dogs. She’s a very fun, good-natured pup who will entertain you. She likes music and will sometimes sing to it.” This sweet girl is a confident, happy, good-natured pup who will make an excellent family dog or is well-suited for an active couple. She would love a pup buddy in her new home but is confident enough to be an only dog, too. She needs a fun, active family who is ready to go and do and will include her in their adventures.
