Story
Meet Bergkamp, a 15-month old, 60-pound husky mix with tons of energy and tons of love to give! Bergkamp can be spotted quickly for his big ears (especially the left one that likes to stand at attention!) and his long, curly tail that he likes to wag during all of his favorite activities—going on walks, wrestling with his dog friends, or showing off his ability to sit and stay. Bergkamp is a playful pup, but he also loves to find a bone and chew away for hours. With a walk and some snuggles he’ll be happy all day. Bergkamp is up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies, and is neutered and microchipped.
Bergkamp is highly trainable and loves to show you what he knows, especially if there is a treat involved! He is crate trained, house trained, and is working on his leash skills. He still is growing out of his puppy energy so he does well with someone who can take him on walks and let him run around and will help him remember what he can and cannot play with! He loves playing chase with the other dog in the household and loves to wake up and wrestle for a bit and run around the yard. He is great with kids (his recent home had a 2-year old and a 4-year old) and loves other dogs once he’s been properly introduced. Bergkamp can be a bit skittish around some people but if he loves you he will shower you with attention!
Bergkamp has participated in in-house and boarding training and takes to it very well. He knows: Spot, Sit, Stay, Touch, Leave It, Down, Shake, and is working on heel. Bergkamp is loving with the other dogs in the house once he gets to know them. The reason we are re-homing is because he is very afraid of my husband and has been since they first met. He is never aggressive but we haven’t been able to improve the fear (which results in barking, cowering, hiding behind me) and I know that he will be happier in a house where he doesn’t ever worry about being afraid. He has only shown this fear with my husband and my husband’s father, so I feel confident that he will be the perfect pet for another family since he is so wonderful with other dogs and with children and me!
