Meet Zaela, a 5-year-old F1 Pomsky (Husky mama × Pomeranian dad, born Feb 20, 2020) with a big, joyful personality. She lives for tug-of-war, soft stuffies, and a good bully stick, then melts into belly rubs and ear scratches. Zaela is happiest with active people and room to romp—we’re prioritizing a home with a securely fenced yard (respectful kids who love to play outside are a plus!). Why she’s wonderful • Big heart and affectionate; loves being part of the action • Playful energy that’s easy to channel with yard games and short walks • Smart, people-focused, eager to connect We prefer Zaela and her playmate Finley go to the same home but are open to separate homes if they are the right fit. Hello, my dogs name is Malika, I had adopted her about 5 months ago. She’s a lover girl ! Loves to play and is very hyper. she is the perfect dog, but does need some basic training! According to the the shelter she is about 3 years old. Unfortunately I switched careers which has completely changed my lifestyle, and financial means and don’t spend as much time with her as I would like to as of now and it could only get worst. Being a single and living alone I believe she deserves just so much and a big family.

Puppy nonsense is strong in Cary. He had a big growth spurt and knows it too. Cary likes to mush through the snow and jump for attention. He is also smart (which makes the shelter even tougher) and knows some commands. He just has to decide to show them off. Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
