Story
ABOUT CHOUPIC Husky lovers, meet your new pup! Choupic is a 4-month-old Husky mix, who could not be more accurate to the breed. This handsome little guy came to HAP from a high-intake shelter partner when they no longer had space for him. We'll be honest, Choupic is a vocal, sometimes stubborn, always playful, and overall energetic pup. However, once his energy is out, he is quick to melt in your lap for snuggles. Choupic is also one smart boy, picking up new commands super easily, as he is very food and toy motivated to learn! He already knows 'sit', 'down', and 'stay'. We are working on 'paw', 'other paw', and 'leave-it'. The most important thing to know about this pup, which is very true to Husky nature, is he is most obedient and loyal to people he bonds with! Choupic is very eager to please his friends, though he may push your buttons at first! He can be jumpy or mouthy with new people, as he is still teething and learning basic manners. However, he is easily redirected with treats or a toy! Choupic enjoys playing with other dogs and quick to let out a bark or whine when he needs a break from our more rough and tumble pups! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/. Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Ridley, PA for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Dot! Dot is a 14-year-old, 13 lb., Pomeranian who was surrendered when her owner passed away. She was suffering from Lyme disease and an infection from ticks. It was time for a new beginning. Dot came into rescue and fit right in at her foster home. She was spayed, has some masses removed, and received medications for the Lyme disease and tick infection. Dot is fully potty trained and gets along well with dogs, cats, and kids. She has good hearing but is partially blind. She walks well on a leash, handles stairs, and loves to be picked up and cuddled. Dot’s foster home is very busy and she has no trouble handling the chaos. Dot loves her people, but will bark at strangers. Her ideal home would not have new people coming in all the time.  If you need a couch cuddle buddy, then Dot is the right dog for you. She insists on belly rubs after breakfast and loves being scratched and loved on. Dot really enjoys walks, car rides, and basking in the sun. She also loves playing with toys. If you need a whole lot of love in a small package, please apply today!
