Story
Introducing an adorable Pomeranian, weighing in at 7 pounds, DOB 10/16/23, Scotty is looking for his forever spot to call home. His ideal spot would be a home with the right pawrents to continue working with him on basics and potty training- we don't know how long he was left outside without guidance, but do know this cutie is smart and will make a great addition to the right family. Scotty has done well with the other dogs in his foster home (his size- large dogs are unknown), could make friends with a cat (but hasn't met one), and we see him doing well with children over 10 who know that he is a very small dog. Scotty will need a fully secure fenced yard to house him safely. He is not use to a leash (but is being introduced and worked with), is working on potty training, hasn't used a crate in his foster home, and has begun learning his home manners and some basics. His foster describes him as, "Scotty is absolutely adorable- plays with his sister (Minnie) and his foster siblings very well, is small enough to travel with, if necessary, and doesn't show behaviors like chewing things- bonus! He is a bit timid at first but once he knows his people- he enjoys them." If you believe this little ball of cuteness would make your home complete- follow the link below to complete the required ADOPTION APPLICATION. **PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must live within an hour radius of Toledo, Ohio. *Scotty is neutered, current on shots, microchipped, and on monthly heartworm/flea prevention. *His adoption fee is $350.00 *Visit our link below to find the required ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website and help this cutie land his forever home! Story
Candy is a 7-year-11-month old Pomeranian mix weighing 13 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Candy is a special girl who needs a special home. She's experienced trauma and neglect from humans in her past which has made her a bit nervous with men and new people. She is very submissive and will pee every time someone leans over her or she thinks she's going to be picked up. She is happiest when you are down on her level and wants to be in your lap. She LOVES playing fetch with her favorite toy, she will play endlessly, her face lights up and she just loves it! She is good on leash and is always excited and happy to be outside. Treat motivated. Good with cats. Cage/kennel aggressive, due to the amount of time she has spent in a cage/kennel she now hates it and will become aggressive when caged. She has a grade 3 luxating patella on her rear left leg, does not seem to cause pain or discomfort, or slow her down. History of UTI and crystals. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application feeCome and meet your new best friend today! Story
SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION! Grover is an 8-year-2-month old Pomeranian mix weighing 14 pounds. He is a special needs adoption due to multiple health issues. Deaf, does not react to sound. Blind-can see shadows, some movement and straight on. Elevated AIP & ALT liver values-possible indication of cushings disease (further testing recommended). Grover is an independent gentleman, doing his own thing. He does like to be near his person and will follow you around. He enjoys walks and quiet play, not much interest in toys. He's okay with other dogs. Does not seem to like cats. He did well with Tails and Toe Beans Groomer, she hand shy around his head (most likely due to blindness). Recommend children in home be over 12 years and respectful of his space. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Story
Meet Finnegan! He is a bundle of energy who lives life to the fullest! Whether its running, jumping, or chasing after a ball, this active boy is always on the move. He's an expert at fetch and has a particular love for chewing on bones- soft toys don't stand a chance! Finnegan is also a big fan of the outdoors, and snow is his absolute favorite! Though he can be a little cautious around new people and may need a few meeting to feel comfortable, once's he's your friend, he'll be your loyal sidekick. He loves being close to his people, ready to snuggle up once you've earned his trust! Currently in a foster home, Finnegan is looking for his forever family. He lives with other dogs in his foster home (large-medium dogs) so its very possible he would enjoy a doggy brother or sister! He would be best suited for an active home who is prepared to provide him with adequate physical and mental stimulation that a high energy boy like him needs. We do not feel that Finnegan would be well suited for a home with younger children- so mindful older children only. We are unsure how he would react to living with a cat, but it could be a possibility. If you're looking for a playful and loving companion who is as cute as they come, Finnegan might just be your perfect match! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please, send in an adoption application and set up an appointment to meet Finnegan! He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. His adoption fee is $275, which helps cover some of the medical care that he has received. **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
