Story
Candy is a 7-year-10-month old Pomeranian mix weighing 13 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Candy is a special girl who needs a special home. She's experienced trauma and neglect from humans in her past which has made her a bit nervous with men and new people. She is very submissive and will pee every time someone leans over her or she thinks she's going to be picked up. She is happiest when you are down on her level and wants to be in your lap. She LOVES playing fetch with her favorite toy, she will play endlessly, her face lights up and she just loves it! She is good on leash and is always excited and happy to be outside. Treat motivated. Good with cats. Cage/kennel aggressive, due to the amount of time she has spent in a cage/kennel she now hates it and will become aggressive when caged. She has a grade 3 luxating patella on her rear left leg, does not seem to cause pain or discomfort, or slow her down. History of UTI and crystals. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Story
SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION! Grover is an 8-year old Pomeranian mix weighing 14 pounds. He is a special needs adoption due to multiple health issues. Deaf, does not react to sound. Blind-can see shadows, some movement and straight on. Elevated AIP & ALT liver values-possible indication of cushings disease (further testing recommended). Grover is an independent gentleman, doing his own thing. He does like to be near his person and will follow you around. He enjoys walks and quiet play, not much interest in toys. He's okay with other dogs. Does not seem to like cats. He did well with Tails and Toe Beans Groomer, she hand shy around his head (most likely due to blindness). Recommend children in home be over 12 years and respectful of his space. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Story
Meet Autumn! This sweet, small, 10 lb Pomeranian girl came to us from a Puppy Mill. After spending her whole 6 years of life in a cage being used for breeding, Autumn is ready for her next chapter! Despite her rough start, Autumn is very friendly and social! She LOVES being with her person! This girl does ok with other dogs once she warms up to them, but would also be fine as an only dog. She has met cats and even chickens without issue!  Due to her small size we recommend any children in the home be over 10 years old.  Autumn is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped and had a recent dental! She is also crate trained and doing great with house breaking! If you have room on your lap and in your heart, we have no doubt Autumn would be a wonderful companion! Please visit our website to submit an application: https://www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables Her adoption fee is $350  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Donations can be made via our PayPal account - info@prodogsohio.org. You must be willing to commute to the location that the pet is being fostered in order to be eligible to adopt. We do not ship our pets. We also require that you personally bring the pet back to us should the adoption not work out.   We do NOT negotiate adoption fees. All money goes to support our rescue operation. We are 100% volunteered based. We require your current dog(s) to be current on vaccines and heartworm prevention.  Apply online at www.prodogsohio.org, under the Adoptables tab. Due to the volume of apps and inquiries, we may not be able to respond to everyone.November 5, 2024, 9:50 am
