Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 03/26/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder Release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Birdie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Weight: 13 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Birdie is searching for a family who has the time and patience to help her learn what it truly means to be a pet. Much of the world is still new to her, and she will need a gentle, understanding home that allows her to move at her own pace as she builds confidence and trust. We believe she would do best in a quiet, child-free home. Sudden movements or unexpected touching can be frightening for her, and she prefers to know what’s coming next so she can feel safe and comfortable.  Birdie absolutely adores other dogs and relies on them for comfort and guidance, so a home with another dog is a must for her. While she enjoys the company of all dogs, she has a special fondness for male dogs and would be especially happy with a big or little “brother” to follow around. Having a canine companion helps her feel safe and secure, both inside the home and out. What is my personality like? Time is the greatest gift you can give Birdie. Until she fully trusts, she can be timid and nervous, but with patience and consistency, her sweet nature begins to shine through. She is clean in her crate and, while we can’t say for certain that she is fully house trained, she has not had any accidents in our care. Birdie loves cozy spaces - plush, bouncy dog beds are her favorite and she is happiest indoors, cuddled up alongside her doggy friends. Birdie is still learning the ins and outs of pet life and will need continued patience and gentle guidance as she settles into a home environment. With a calm home, a trusted canine companion, and adopters willing to let her bloom in her own time, Birdie has the potential to become a deeply loving and loyal companion. How do I act when I first meet new people? Birdie is timid and nervous when meeting new people. Slow and steady wins the race. Other tips and tidbits: Birdie's birthday is 03/26/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. January 13, 2026, 5:51 pm

Story
Meet Drea!  Drea is a very sweet, very nervous girl who is learning that the world can be a safe place. She wants so badly to trust, but right now she needs time, consistency, and understanding to get there. Drea will need at least a month to settle into a new home—and even after that, she’ll continue to need an adopter who truly understands that progress for her comes in small, meaningful steps. She’s not a “warm up on day one” kind of dog, but she is a dog who will quietly bloom when given the chance. Because of her anxiety, a securely fenced yard is a must. This isn’t optional—it’s for her safety and peace of mind. Likewise, Drea absolutely needs at least one other confident, friendly dog in the home. She takes her cues from other dogs, and having a calm canine role model helps her feel brave when humans feel overwhelming. Drea’s ideal home: Patient, calm humans who respect her timeline A fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time At least one confident resident dog to show her the ropes A predictable routine and low-pressure environment Drea may never be the dog who rushes to greet strangers—but she can become deeply bonded to her people, loyal in her own quiet way, and incredibly rewarding for the right adopter. Loving Drea means celebrating tiny wins: a tail wag, a relaxed nap, choosing to stay close.     She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and current with all vaccines (as appropriate for her age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Drea is currently being fostered in South Carolina.   ADOPT DREA!! www.LuckyPupRescueSC.com The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit. January 14, 2026, 9:47 am
