Story
Hi there! My name is Bella, and I’m a sweet, spunky 3-year-old Pomeranian weighing in at just 12 pounds. I’m on the lookout for my forever home, and I can't wait to meet you! I’m fully potty trained and crate trained, which means I’m a pretty well-behaved little lady. I absolutely adore kids and get along great with them — they bring out the best in me, and I love all the attention and snuggles!   I really want to be a friend to all but I’ve had some tough experiences with bigger dogs picking on me in the past, so I’d love to have a meet and greet with any other dogs in the house to make sure we get along. I think it’s important that we take things slow and get to know each other first.  I’m already spayed and up to date on all my vaccines, so I’m ready to go! I just want a loving family who can give me lots of care, playtime, and snuggles. If you think we’d be a great match, please apply for me at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application. I can’t wait to start the next chapter of my life with you!If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! U.S. shelter and adoption estimates 2012 3,500—Number of animal shelters •  6-8 million—Number of cats and dogs entering shelters each year 25 percent—Percentage of purebred dogs in shelters •  3-4 million—Number cats and dogs adopted from shelters each year 2.7 million—Number of adoptable cats and dogs euthanized in shelters each year 25% of dogs in shelters are pure bred - that's 1 in 4! Story
Meet Bailey! This SWEET friendly senior still has a lot of life left in her and loves all people. Her owner sadly was too ill to care for her and no one in the family was able to give her a home, so she’s come to us. She’s 12 years old but a happy girl with a spring in her step and a stubby tail that’s always wagging. She has some early heart disease manageable with medication, and her teeth are pretty rotted and will likely all have to be pulled when she gets her dental soon. She’s under 10lbs and some type of tall lean Italian greyhound/chihuahua/pom/jrt mix we think. Just a nice happy easy going little companion dog. Please email njwoof@cs.com to meet this sweet senior in Northern NJ and give her a home for a holidays! Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
Oakley, is a very social, sweet, adorable little male Pomeranian that loves to be held and loves to snuggle. This 5-pound little guy was born on 11/19/21. He was born with malformed knees, also called stifles, which cause him to move with somewhat lowered hindquarters like he is getting ready to sit or squat. However, this does not slow him down and when he hears his name called, he comes running. Oakley is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, had a dental, tested heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea & tick prevention to maintain his good health. Due to his small size he will not be considered for homes with small children. Oakley is located in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $600 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Oakley, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. href="http://dhd.coffeecup.com/forms/bhsapp/">You can find a copy of that application here.
