Meet Romeo! Romeo is a 5-year-old Pomeranian weighing in at 6-7 pounds of pure love! This affectionate little guy adores snuggling and cuddling with his humans. He’s incredibly friendly and social. Romeo also does well with other dogs and cats too! He’d be happy to have a furry sibling! Romeo is learning to do his potty business outside and is making progress with positive reinforcement. He does fine on a leash and is continuing to improve with practice. Despite being new to his environment, Romeo has shown he’s a great sleeper—he sleeps quietly through the night in his crate! If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, and loyal pup who will love to be by your side, Romeo could be your perfect match. Apply today to meet this charming little fluffball!

Story
Meet Haesol❤️ After roaming for an unknown period of time, Haesol entered a local temple in search of food and refuge. Fortunately, the monks took good care of Haesol, but there were cats in the temple that they had tended, so they were unable to continue caring for him. Haesol was rescued thanks to the efforts of an Adogs volunteer who learned about the situation. * Toward People: Shows curiosity about strangers, even if they're new to him! Shows interest but doesn't enjoy being touched. Relaxes with familiar people. * Toward Dogs:He accepts doggy friends who come up to him rather than approaching first. He stays still when they approach rather than playing or reacting. * Separation Anxiety: He doesn't have separation anxiety in the house and usually sleeps even when he is with other dog friends. When he is confined to an unfamiliar place, such as a kennel or hotel room, he barks demandingly after about 10 minutes, but in his comfortable home, he doesn't bark at all. * Potty Training: He's good at peeing on a pad when he's at home, and he's good when he goes outside, but he prefers to do his poops outside. * Hygiene: Is terrified and dislikes bathing, either because he is not used to it or because of his hump on the body. * Walks: He walks well without pulling on the leash. Sometimes he goes where he wants to go, but if you give him a little tug on the leash, he will follow. * Car sickness: He doesn't like to ride in cars and sometimes barks. * He doesn't bark at all, except once in a while when the leash is tightened to show his discomfort. * He doesn't like to have his paws touched, so he barks and runs around, and he gets scared when there's a sudden loud noise, like a bus. * He has a calm and relaxed nature. At home, he is very relaxed and not very interested in toys. He is very curious and enjoys going for walks. ❗Health Status❗ - Is scheduled for tooth scaling. - Has some spinal stenosis, thus his gait is slightly unstable. However, his condition does not require surgery. - The surgery to remove the lump has been completed. The liver is inflamed and needs to be managed while the eyes have nuclear sclerosis. - He has a lipoma on his instep that has been bleeding, and is being watched carefully if there is continued bleeding. 💙 Foster's Instagram: @easystar_imbo

Story
DIVO - 8 months, 6lbs, Pom, Neutered Want to adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Our Team Says: "We know that Divo is super cute but we must find him the right home. Poms can be very particular with lots of quirks and we want Divo to thrive long term. Pease only apply if you fit the mold :) Divo's ideal home has two main ingredients. 1) Divo needs a home in the burbs (the city is not good for him as he is extremely sensitive to noise and goes on the defense: not okay for neighbors). 2) Divo would do best in a home with another dog that is playful. He LOVES big confident dogs but wouldn't say no to a dog similar in size to him who is willing to play with him."  His Foster Parent Says: "Divo has been pretty entertaining to foster. He's our first small dog foster in a very long time, we're used to large working breeds arounds here. We've been treating him like any of our working breed fosters and he seems to really be enjoying his time here: no purse dog treatment allowed. Divo is an interesting boy because the obvious is he's so darn cute but if you look under his thick hair you will see that he is a pretty unsure boy who needs a lot of space and re-assurance and guidance to figure out the world around him. The first two days we took him home he was very unsure of me so I played hard to get. Did not look at him or touch him aside from potty breaks & meals -  this progressed into him being curious about me once he know I was safe but I quickly saw him start to try to appease me - would come over put his paws up on me -  kiss me and then start to bark at me in a demanding way. I caught onto his game quickly and from then on he was to be treated like a big dog. He is not a toy - and I would advise his adopters to not encourage this behaviour as he will quickly take control of you - all 7lbs -  if you give him an inch. He is actually much happier to be independent too - he does a few check-ins during the day for a pet but overall he is not clingy at all: when the relationship is balanced the right way. He loves my cats and my dog - she's about 40lbs - they play several times a day and I think she's a good influence on him overall. Divo loves to go for walks, chew on cow hooves and play with his toys. He's housetrained but does have a small bladder so you'll need to either be dedicated to potty breaks (3 to 4 a day) or use pads to help. His biggest flaw is his barking - if he hears noise outside of the apartment - he'll be set off - with any type of reactive behaviour we have good days and bad days - but this is why we want him in a home out of the city :) His last flaw is that he is much more fearful of new people coming into his home - he's got like zero aggressiveness in him but boy can he bark - he's communicating "I don't know about this"! He is more nervous around men - so he will need to meet all new guests outside - go for a hot lap around the block with his new friend -  and then play what we call the "cheese game" - a new person comes in, sits on the sofa and feeds him cheese. With continued training, exercise, play and the right set-up and routine he's a Pom Pom dream. In the hands of someone who wants him to be a little lap dog prince he could be a tangled pom pom hot mess express. P.S. Pom hair is a lot of work to keep tangle free, so the adopter must be okay with brushing him." Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines (for dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age), spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer uponHow this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
DOB 8-14-2024 Kelly is adorable, sweet and social. She loves to play, gets along with the others and likes her toys. Kelly's adoption fee is 850.00 and her transport fee is 165.00. Kelly is up to date on all medical for her age and will come with a complete set of paperwork. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
