Story
Hey there, I’m Elvis, a 12-pound bundle of spunk and charm! I’m a Pomeranian/Spaniel mix, and at just 2-3 years old, I’ve got the perfect balance of youthful energy and grown-up smarts. I’ve got a little bit of an independent streak, but don’t let that fool you—I still love spending time with my favorite people, especially if there are treats involved! I’m a quick learner and will happily sit for a tasty snack. I’m always up for a little training session or learning new tricks—anything to keep my mind sharp and my tummy happy. If you’re looking for a spunky, smart, and slightly independent little guy to add some fun to your life, I might just be your perfect match. I’m ready to find a forever family that will love me as much as I will love them. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Linus is one of the 180 animals recently removed from the horrific rescuer turned hoarder case in Brick, NJAfter all he's been through, he deserves to be loved, cuddled, spoiled, and pampered for the rest of his life... but just not him and definitely not what he wants or needs. For him, true love comes in the form of respect and space, not hugs and kisses. At first glance he is overall a friendly guy who dances and spins for attention, and seems ok with other dogs. He is a larger mostly pomeranian (mix?), about 17lbs full grown. This guy was in rough shape when first rescued- very matted, covered in fleas and itchy scabs, and urine scalded from living far too long crated in his own waste, but is looking and feeling much better now thanks to the care of the Ocean County Shelters' staff and volunteers, and his ready to leave his past behind. Linus has shown some resource guarding issue with his food and bones, and handling has to be on his terms (although he is already doing well with his basket muzzle training which is definitely a must for vet visits!) Linus is looking for an adult home that will respect his space and limitations and help him adjust to a real home. Not a lap dog, he's more like a cat who will come and rub against you for pets but let you know with a good swat when he's had enough (or in his case, some pinches with his luckily mostly toothless mouth!) Please submit an application if you would like to give Linus the life he deserves and has earned in his senior years. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 17 Age: 9yrs 8mths 3wks

Meet Fuzzie.... What a cute fluff ball..... Fuzzie and some siblings were pulled from a puppy mill in Iowa. The mill was trying to sell these pups in a local flea market. Our transporter was able to get them surrendered to us and we immediately started the process to get the appropriate paperwork started. Fuzzie is a 14 week old 3/4 Pomeranian and 1/4 Eskimo mix. She is a full shedding pup that will max out weight wise around 15 pounds. Fuzzie is a gorgeous chocolate and white color. She is a ball of fun and a ball of fluff. Story
Oakley, is a very social, sweet, adorable little male Pomeranian that loves to be held and loves to snuggle. This 5-pound little guy was born on 11/19/21. He was born with malformed knees, also called stifles, which cause him to move with somewhat lowered hindquarters like he is getting ready to sit or squat. However, this does not slow him down and when he hears his name called, he comes running. Oakley is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, had a dental, tested heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea & tick prevention to maintain his good health. Due to his small size he will not be considered for homes with small children. Oakley is located in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $600 and the transport fee is $165. If you would like to adopt Oakley, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. href="http://dhd.coffeecup.com/forms/bhsapp/">You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer will contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
