PLEASE READ BELOW FOR OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK - WE CANNOT RESPOND TO INQUIRIES SENT VIA ADOPTAPET WE ONLY CONTACT APPLICANTS WITH WHOM WE WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. MEET PETE the PEEKAPOM North New Jersey This adorable little boy with the cutest little toopheses you've ever seen is a black with white mask and toes, male Pekingese – Pomeranian mix (PeekaPom), 13 lbs., and around 6-7 years old. He is a FUN and FUNNY little guy. He LOVES to play with toys, dogs, you, whatever, he's not fussy. He tosses his toy around in the air and then jumps to catch it himself! He will chase a tossed ball for as long as you'll throw it. And he will entertain himself in general sniffing around, chewing on a nylabone, or taking naps in the sun. He is a VERY affectionate little guy and has done well learning boundaries while here. He is now quite independent and has learned the routine. In fact, sometimes his foster mom has to drag him out of the bedroom to come outside with the others! He sleeps on a doggie bed next to his foster mom’s bed at night but would definitely LOVE to sleep in bed with his person. He snuggles on the couch while watching tv, etc. He has a blast playing with the other pups in his foster home so would be nice for him to have another fur friend to play with but it is not necessary as long as he has a human around for most of the day. He is more of the submissive type and is afraid of alpha bullies. So no mean doggies in his new home! He is also afraid of small children so tweenagers and up please. His xrays were normal, blood work was good, physical exam perfect, and he had a dental. He was extremely well behaved at the vet and groomer. He will need eye drops for dry eye and eye pressure for life. He is UTD, HW negative, neutered, dewormed, dental, housebroken, and full of love. Adoption donation is $450. TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION We only process complete applications and providing false information immediately disqualifies you from adopting. https://gingerbreaddogs.org/adopt-overview/adoption-application/ Please follow our Facebook page to see new dogs as they arrive and to keep up on the daily shenanigans: https://www.facebook.com/gingerbreaddogs ABOUT OUR PROCESS: WE ONLY CONTACT APPLICANTS WITH WHOM WE WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. Our adoption process is on our website. You can see more about our daily operations on our Facebook page. Story
Meet Charlotte (aka Charlie)!  This little lady is an adorable 7 year old Pomeranian mix (our best guess). She is a little plump right now at 16lbs. Charlie was surrendered by her owner for unknown reasons and is a little nervous with the recent changes to her world. Despite her worries, she is polite, friendly and eager to follow her new human friends around the house, especially if they’re providing treats and scratches. She enjoys hanging on the couch with her people and napping comfortably throughout the day.    Charlie is great on the leash, is crate trained, housebroken on a schedule and sleeps well throughout the night. She doesn’t mind other dogs but prefers having some personal space and time to relax. Based on her calm personality, we think she would likely leave cats alone and prefer a kid-free home.  She would enjoy a quiet home and a family who will be dedicated to getting her down to a healthy weight.   If you are interested in this little girl, who would love to settle into a forever family who will truly keep her forever, please email us at almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com.  (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 11, 2025, 4:51 pm

Story
** Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea ** Meet Sunny with a story of miracles👋 Sunny was found on a street in South Korea at one year old in 2018 and taken to a high-risk shelter, but she was already in serious condition presumably caused by a car accident. Her pelvis was fractured, and her right hind leg bone was broken into pieces. She was saved from euthanasia by the rescue team and hospitalized for months (Jun-Sep 2018) due to the surgery and recovery. She was miraculously given a new life thanks to the rescue. That same year, after a few months of foster period, Sunny found a forever home, which was another miracle we thought of back then. Five years later, however, the rescue team got an unknown phone call requesting to change Sunny's ownership. Long story short, her family decided to give up on her after years, sent her to a pet shop, and paid them, all this without discussing it with the rescue team. This pet shop basically receives pets from owners and in turn, sells them out, and to do so with Sunny, they needed to have Sunny's ownership switched from the rescue team to the pet shop so they contacted the rescue team, and that’s how the rescue team learned Sunny's situation. Eventually, Sunny was able to safely return to her original rescue team, which is another miracle in her story. Despite all these setbacks, Sunny's sweet nature and zest for life shine bright. She needs one true chance to find her real forever family that loves her unconditionally. Recently, she has been moved to her foster home with two other dogs. Sunny is eagerly waiting for her own home now! • Personality: Sweet, Playful, Sociable Sunny thrives on love and affection and gets along with all people and furry friends, making her the perfect companion for anyone seeking a lovely and affectionate fur buddy. She is such a cuddle bug! She likes snuggly cushions and blankets. • Affinity with - Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs regardless of the size - Cats: Okay with street cats. She sometimes tries to chase kittens, but she stops when told. - Adults/Kids: Good with adults, especially elders including men / Okay with kids - not much interest in them. 💫She will be a perfect fit for most types of families! • Housetrained: fully housebroken, okay with both pee-pads and outdoors. • Walking Manners: very good • Separation Anxiety: None • Bathing/Brushing: very good • Barks/Howls: she barks when excited or when she wants something. • Car Rides: very good • Appetite/Food Allergies: No allergies • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 • Health Issues: Due to the serious injuries that she got from an accident right before rescue, her pelvis is not perfectly placed (incomplete union of iliac) even after she had surgery immediately after being rescued. However, currently, she doesn’t show signs of pain when walking or running. If you have an open heart and a loving home for Sunny, please don't hesitate to apply!

Story
** Current location: in a foster home in South Korea ** Meet Yool👋 This sweet little pup was found wandering the streets of Paju, South Korea, in August 2024. He was taken to a high-kill shelter, where his future was uncertain. Thankfully, HDS Rescue stepped in just in time, bringing him to safety at a partner clinic. After three months of recovery, Yool moved into his loving foster home, where he’s been well cared for. Now, he's ready to find his forever family! • Personality: Gentle, Affectionate, Friendly Yool is a gentle, submissive, affectionate boy with so much love to give! He’s friendly with everyone she meets, including men. Calm and laid-back most of the time, he has bursts of playful energy during mealtime or playtime. His sweet and loving nature will steal your heart! • Affinity with - Dogs: A little timid around other dogs and doesn’t feel confident when active dogs approach him. He may feel more comfortable around calm, gentle dogs. - Cats: He hasn’t had much exposure to cats yet but doesn’t show interest in them on walks. - Adults/Kids: Friendly with adults / While he’s not particularly drawn to kids, he’s generally good with all people. • Walking Manners: Still discovering the joy of walks since he likely didn’t get many chances before being rescued. He loves running on grassy patches and is slowly building his confidence on a leash. • Housetrained: Currently using pee pads indoors but has recently started peeing outdoors as well. • Bathing/Brushing: Bath time and brushing aren’t his favorite activities, but he tolerates them like a champ! • Car Sickness: Car rides make him a little nervous, but he stays calm when held in your arms. • Separation Anxiety: None. • Barks/Howls: Almost none. Maybe just one bark when he's impatient in front of food. • Appetite/Food Allergies: No allergies. Loves any kind of food. • Shedding level (1~10): 6-7 • Likes/Dislikes: Yool is a total foodie and loves everything from his kibble to treats and even health supplements! He also enjoys tug-of-war and being petted. / His one dislike? Bath time—he’s not a fan but gets through it with patience. 💊 Health Healthy overall, though he could benefit from a little weight loss. After his rescue, he had to be shaved, and the fur on his hindquarters has been growing back slower than the rest. (No issue with hormone) Other than that, he’s in great shape!
