Meet Jethro! He was a stray in Scott County before he came to SMART! Little did we know that he is just about full grown at 22lb! The vets put his age at 6-9 months old, and he is a snuggle bug who makes himself at home wherever he goes. He is a great boy who just needs to find his furever people. Is that you??

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Well, hello there! You’re probably wondering how I got my name. Let me explain: I’m fluffy like a marshmallow and sweet as a McFlurry—hence, the name! It just fits, don’t you think? Speaking of fitting, let’s talk about my looks. My eyes? Stunning. Bright blue, and sure to melt your heart. My body? Well, let’s say I’m a work in progress. I’m not exactly ready for a fitness magazine cover—more like the poster pup for “Too Many McFlurries Anonymous.” But hey, we’re working on my fabulous figure! I’m great with all the dogs in my foster home and have even conquered stairs… going up, that is. Coming down? Nope, not for me! Those steps are a little too intimidating for this hot potato, so my foster mom carries me like the royalty I am. You should know, I’m a breeder release dog, which means life outside a kennel is pretty new to me. I’m learning the ropes—slowly but surely! Oh, and I recently had a dental cleaning, leaving me with only four teeth on top. Don’t worry, though, I’m still managing just fine. Now for the elephant in the room: potty training. Let’s just say it’s not my strongest subject yet, but I’m trying! I wear a belly band, and my foster mom says things might improve once I’m neutered. It’s a work in progress, but hey, no one’s perfect, right? With my irresistible charm and adorable name, I know I’ll win you over. Let’s meet soon—I can’t wait to find my forever family!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
I am looking for a foster or my furever family. If you can foster me please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org If you are interested in adopting me please complete the adoption application on my profile. Hi! My name is Mallory and I am from Missouri. **Meet Mallory!** Mallory is a stunning 7-year-old Pomeranian with a soft, fluffy coat and soulful eyes that tell a story of resilience. She came into rescue as an extremely unsocialized dog and is still learning that humans can be kind and gentle. Mallory is terrified of human contact and will freeze when approached, so she’ll need an experienced, patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. She may never be a cuddly lap dog, but she has so much potential to blossom in the right environment. The key to Mallory’s confidence is another dog! She thrives with a calm, well-adjusted canine companion to show her the ropes and help her feel safe. Her ideal home will have a resident dog who can be her buddy and role model. Mallory’s rehabilitation journey will require time, understanding, and love. She’ll need a quiet home without young children and a fenced yard where she can explore safely at her own pace. She’s looking for someone who sees her for who she is now and believes in the amazing dog she can become. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Mallory and provide the ongoing care she needs, she’ll reward you with the joy of watching her slowly learn to trust and enjoy life. Are you the special person Mallory has been waiting for?

Story
Hi! My name is Paradise and I am from Missouri. **Meet Paradise!** Paradise is a beautiful 10-year-old Pomeranian with a heart as big as her fluffy coat. While she’s still learning to trust the world around her, her curiosity about human contact shines through her initial fear. Paradise may not be ready for cuddles just yet, but she’s taking small, brave steps every day. Paradise came into rescue as a very fearful dog, but she’s starting to show glimpses of her sweet personality. She watches humans with cautious interest, and with time, patience, and love, she’s sure to grow more confident. Paradise needs a calm, quiet home where she can continue to learn at her own pace. She does well with other dogs and would benefit from having a gentle, well-adjusted canine friend to help her feel more secure. A resident dog can show her the ropes and help her navigate this big, scary world. Paradise’s perfect home will be one with compassionate adopters who are experienced with shy or fearful dogs. She’ll need a safe environment, a lot of patience, and someone who will celebrate every small victory with her. Are you ready to give Paradise the forever home she deserves? Watching her bloom will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

Story
Meet Oliver! This stunning little guy is the total package. At first glance, his handsome looks catch your eye, but it’s his loving, happy-go-lucky personality that will steal your heart. Oliver is full of energy and loves nothing more than chasing a ball or running around with his canine friends but once he’s tired, he will snuggle up by you. He’s already crate-trained and doing fantastic with house training. He’s friendly with kids, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and seems indifferent toward cats. He is a very happy boy whose tail is always wagging. Oliver would thrive in an active home where he can run, play, and get lots of love and attention. Oliver is estimated to be 6 years old and 16 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Saturday, February 1, 1:30-3:30pm, Insight Brewing, 2821 E. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB: 10/01/2015 Requires another dog in home: Yes, needs another confident dog Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes, dog friendly dogs Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Weight: 13 pounds Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, needs a fence  Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Jessie and I am the perfect combination of sweet and gentle. I am a timid and shy girl who is making tremendous progress living in a home with a loving family. I have learned so many things – the most important is to trust my people. My people have been very gentle and going slow with me and I have made a lot of progress. She gives me little massages on my head and back – it is so relaxing for me and my people. I have the softest coat and I think you will agree! I am a shy little girl, so having a confident dog in my forever home is required. Another dog will be helpful to show me the ropes, help me get on a routine and help me feel comfortable in my surroundings. Foster mom tells me with a little time and a lotta love, I will come out of my shell and be a great friend to my people. A lot of commotion worry me a bit, so I spend time in my comfy bed watching the activity in the house. Hopefully you have lots of comfy beds for me! Potty training is going great, my foster mom carries me outside and I am good about doing my business on a routine. While I will go potty on a leash, I don't know how to go for walks yet so will need a fence. Maybe there is another dog in the house to show me how to walk on a leash? Hopefully! Anyway, I am ready for my forever. My forever family, my forever home and my forever best friend that will love me unconditionally, not give up on me! I promise I’m worth it and I will fill that hole that you possibly never even knew was there! Love, Jessie *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.      ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
