Story
Pom is a handsome gentleman who came to MACS as a stray, so his background history is all unknown. What we do know is he a happy little fluffball who loves to talk, and loves to let you know his presence. Pom would do best in a home with an experienced owner, who understands he will need routine professional grooming done every 6 weeks to keep his coat nice and healthy. He's got opinions on everything, and loves to explore toys and the outside world and even peoples hands and feet with his mouth! Pom was recently neutered, so he is still working out all of his potty issues out and is doing good with it.If you are interested in adopting Pom you can fill out an adoption application today!

Story
MEET STEVIE: Stevie is a 3-year-old, 8-pound Pomeranian mix who has been through unimaginable hardships. Despite his heartbreaking past, he has emerged as a brave and resilient fella who is eager to find his forever home. Stevie's journey began when he was found in terrible condition, reportedly as a stray. However, it's unlikely that he wandered far from home, and we believe he was likely abandoned or dumped by someone who failed to provide him with proper care. He was discovered at the Macomb County jail, where he was aimlessly wandering in unconfined conditions with an overwhelming stench and a coat stained with urine. Unfortunately, his matted coat had to be shaved down, revealing his true beauty. Stevie's eyes never fully developed, making him vision impaired. His left eye has some vision of light and shadows, which allows him to navigate his surroundings with caution. Despite this challenge, Stevie is a sweet boy who has adapted to his disability and is eager to find a loving home. He has done well with other respectful dogs, but we do not recommend a home with puppies that have no respectful boundaries as Stevie is at a disadvantage when it comes to playful interactions. He has shown no interest in cats, and likely couldn't catch one if he tried! He can be a tripping hazard as he cannot fully understand the concept of moving out of the way, so his family will need to be conscience of where he is at all times. What Stevie NeedsTo thrive in his new home, Stevie will require: Regular grooming to maintain his coat and prevent future matting A patient family that understands the unique challenges of having a vision-impaired dog Consistency and time to map out his home and learn to become fully house-trained A quiet environment with a cautious family A home without young children, as they may not be able to understand his special needs A safe and secure environment with no stairs or high furniture (he may not be able to jump down safely) A fenced yard or supervised outdoor time to ensure his safety What Stevie OffersIn return for the love and care you provide, Stevie will offer: A loyal companion who is eager to please A gentle and quiet nature A sweet disposition with a desire to be close to you Unconditional love Stevie Deserves a Lifetime of Love Despite the challenges he has faced, Stevie is a resilient and loving dog who deserves a lifetime of love and care. If you're willing to provide the patience, understanding, and support he needs, Stevie will reward you with a lifetime of companionship and affection. Story
Hi future friends! I am young dude looking for love, forever. My legs are looong and my heart is BIG! Chasing toys around the yard and zoomies will have you smiling and my love will be the icing on the cake, guaranteed. I'm working hard on potty training and like most young pups, time and patience is all you need.  If you are looking for a cider mill partner this fall, apply for me, I would love to sample some doughnuts with my forever family! My friends at CCRC will be in touch.  We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   September 6, 2024, 2:54 pm

Story
Toast is a 5 year old pomeranian that we adopted from the shelter. He is a well behaved dog but is anxious when you leave the house or around other dogs. He is a great dog but we don’t have the resources to train him. He is very cuddly and we walk him 3 times a day. He isn’t crate trained and is more aggressive around other dogs so please make sure that you have the time and resources to take care of Toast. He really is a great loving dog and he needs a loving home that can provide the extra patience and training for him.
