Read All About Them: The News Puppies Are Ready for Adoption Hot off the press, we bring you the feel-good story of the season: five tiny “News puppies” who have turned their foster home into a bustling newsroom of play, cuddles, and nonstop puppy antics. These 9-10 week old pups may be small, but their personalities make front-page headlines every single day. Morning Edition The newsroom comes alive around 7:00 a.m., when the News puppies wake up ready to start the day. With five growing pups on staff, kibble is available for grazing throughout the day (no scoop hogs here), and everyone handles it responsibly. Dinner service wraps up around 8:00 p.m., and they’ll transition easily to a more traditional three-meals-a-day schedule in their forever homes. Fresh water is available during the day as well, before bedtime routines begin.   They share a roomy x-pen with a big, cozy dog bed where they’re often found piled together like a stack of morning papers. Impressively for such young puppies, they are doing very well using pee pads and keeping their space tidy—clearly a well-run operation. Breaking News: Playtime Report These puppies have plenty of room to romp and play on their own, but they also enjoy supervised playtime once or twice a day with their much larger 45-lb Husky mix foster brother. Despite the size difference, the News puppies approach these interactions with confidence, curiosity, and lots of tail wags. Watching them bounce around with their little bunny-hop excitement is a story worth re-reading.   Meet the Editorial Team   Leaders: Tribune & Beacon Tribune is animated, spunky, and always ready to take charge of the next game. He’s especially passionate about toys and never misses a chance to jump into a tug-of-war. Beacon, the fluffiest of the bunch, is a soft, lovable teddy bear who balances leadership with calm charm—and a healthy appreciation for snacks.   The Team Players: Chronicle, Times & Ledger Chronicle and Ledger are your classic “sources close to the story”—they like to stay near their humans and are quick to snuggle up after playtime. Ledger is particularly endearing, known for a tiny whine-chirp he uses when requesting pickup and premium cuddles. Chronicle pairs his love of food with a talent for serious naps, making him one of the newsroom’s most efficient recharge specialists. Times, the only girl and the smallest on staff, is proof that size does not determine column inches. She can absolutely hold her own with her brothers, climbing all over her people with confidence and charm. Equal parts princess and angel, she also happens to be one of the more adventurous reporters, boldly initiating play with the big foster brother alongside Tribune.   Special Features Outgoing & Social: All five puppies  Toy Enthusiasts: Everyone, with Tribune and Ledger leading the charge Food Critics: Chronicle & Beacon Kings of Naps: Ledger & Chronicle Cuddle Bugs: Everyone, with Ledger (first to kiss hello) and Times (professional climber) as the pros Final Edition Every one of the News puppies is a happy, well-adjusted little soul who thrives on play, companionship, and affection. Current Location: Korea 🇰🇷 🐾✨ Meet JISU — A Gentle & Sweet Pom Mix Girl Looking for Her Forever Family ✨🐾 🌸 A soft soul who just wants to belong. 🌸 📌 Basic Info 🐶 Name: Jisu (JISU) 🎀 Age: 3 years old 👧 Gender: Female ⚖️ Weight: 4.9 kg 🐾 Breed: Pomeranian Mix 💉 Vaccinations / Spay-Neuter: Completed 💛 Personality & Charm Jisu is shy at first, but she really wants to be close to people. She quietly stays nearby, observes, trusts slowly… and then one day, she melts into your arms and holds on tight. 🥹💞 Calm, gentle, and loving — the perfect companion for a peaceful home. 👨‍👩‍👧 With Adults & Kids 🧑 Adults: Takes time to warm up, but becomes affectionate and loyal once she trusts you 🧒 Kids: Calm and gentle, okay with being next to them or being touched ⚠️ If kids run or shout loudly, she chooses to observe from a distance 🐶 With Other Animals 🐕 Dogs: Excellent! — polite greetings and sometimes playful with her favorite friends 🐱 Cats: Good! — sniffs and ignores 🦜 Lives peacefully with a parrot in her foster home 🚽 House-training ✨ 100% reliable! ✔ Outdoor potty ✔ Indoor pee pads ✔ Balcony turf ➡️ Very easy and stress-free 🔋 Energy Level ⚡ Low ~ Medium 🏡 Quiet and peaceful at home 🐕 At the park, lightly plays with familiar friends or just jogs along with the group 🗣 Separation Anxiety / Barking / Aggression 💛 Separation anxiety: ❌ 🔔 Barking: ❌ (very minimal) 💥 Aggression: ❌ If scared, she may growl or bark once/twice to say “I’m uncomfortable” — never attacks. 🚶‍♀️ Walks & Car Rides 🌳 Loves walking 🪑 If you sit on a bench, she sits right beside you for comfort 🥹 🚗 Excellent in the car — even waits politely before getting in 🏃 Escape Tendency Because she can get startled, double safety (double leash + secure harness) is recommended. In familiar places, even if the leash slips, she stays close and doesn’t run far. ➡️ Once bonded, she wants to stay within her person’s sight ❤️ 🐾 Rescue Story Jisu lived one year at Gokseong Shelter with her sister Subin. On the day they were scheduled for euthanasia, both were rescued together. She was pregnant at the time and later gave birth to three puppies (she is 💗 Pony’s mom). Now, after everything she has survived… it’s finally her turn to be loved. 📍 Jisu is ready for her forever home. She doesn’t need much — just patience, kindness, and a safe heart to land in. 🤍 If you think she may be the missing piece of your family…♡

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 24th from 12-3pm unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption fee: $700 Meet Indigo   Indigo is a 2 year old, 14 lb Papillon mix who came to the rescue from the shelter and has been busy discovering what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family. He is a bright, energetic little dog with a huge heart and a zest for life that becomes more obvious every day.   Daily Routine Indigo is an early riser and starts his day with a quick 10-minute walk around the park near his foster home. Afterward, he enjoys breakfast— a mix of kibble and wet food— before settling into his pen. Around 8:00 a.m., he heads out for a longer walk, usually 40–50 minutes, where he can burn off his abundant energy. After that, he relaxes in his pen until his foster family returns home in the afternoon.   When his people get home around 3:00–4:00 p.m., Indigo is thrilled to see them and goes out for another short walk. Dinner is around 5:00 p.m., followed by playtime in the living room. Before bedtime, he enjoys one last 10-minute walk around 8:00 p.m. He sleeps in his pen overnight without issue— he may whine briefly, then settles himself and sleeps through until morning.   Personality & Growth When Indigo first arrived, he was very shy and anxious, reluctant to leave his crate and unsure of his new surroundings. He was underweight and dealing with skin issues, and it was clear he needed time to decompress. In just a short period, he has made an impressive transformation. Indigo is now affectionate and cuddly, loves to wag his tail, and eagerly engages in play with toys and his people.   He has a playful, puppy-like spirit and is still learning good manners. Indigo can get mouthy during play and may grab at things when excited, but his foster family is actively working on redirecting this behavior and teaching him appropriate outlets. He is curious, smart, and clearly eager to learn.   One of the sweetest things about Indigo is how he greets his foster family when they come home. As soon as he’s let out of his pen, he walks right up and gently presses his forehead against them— a quiet, heartfelt way of saying he’s happy and feels safe.   Energy Level & Activity Indigo is energetic and always on the move when he’s out of his pen. He loves running and exploring and seems like he could go forever. He is not a couch potato— this is a dog who will thrive with daily walks, enrichment, and an active lifestyle.   Leash Skills & Outside World Indigo has been on many walks and is enthusiastic on leash. He does pull a bit but frequently checks back in with his person. He is very alert and vocal when he sees dogs, people, strollers, cats, or other activity, using his voice to let everyone know he’s there. With continued training, structure, and confidence-building, he should continue to improve in busy environments.   Training & Manners Indigo is crate-trained and comfortable resting in his pen. Potty training is still a work in progress, and he will need a home committed to consistency and positive reinforcement as he continues learning where to go.   Social Life Indigo is currently the only dog in his foster home and has not yet lived with other pets or children. He previously lived with several other dogs while at the shelter.   Why Indigo Indigo is smart, kind, affectionate, and full of personality. In just 10 days, he has already bonded deeply with his foster family and clearly wants to be part of a pack. He is strong, healthy, and endlessly fun, with a playful spirit and a loving heart. For the right home— one that embraces his energy and commits to guiding him as he grows— Indigo will be a devoted, joyful companion who brings laughter and adventure into everyday life.January 21, 2026, 1:55 pm
