She is playful and loves learning new things. Randy is an 8-year-old male who came to us from the Baldwin Park shelter, where he was found wandering the streets as a stray. It’s hard to imagine how this tiny, lovable boy ended up uncared for, but we’re grateful to have him safe with us now. Though Randy isn’t quite ready for adoption just yet, we’re giving him all the care he needs. He’s showing some signs of weakness in his legs, which we suspect may be related to patella problems. We’re working on getting him fully checked out and will make him available for adoption once we’ve addressed his health needs. Randy has a touch of Pomatude, which means he has a bit of a strong personality! While he does tolerate other dogs, he might do best as the only dog in a home where he can be the center of attention. Meet Gingie Bella, 3-year-old female SPECIAL NEEDS DOG Gingie is a lovable dog with a big personality. She came to us with struvite bladder stones, typically caused by UTIs and urease-producing bacteria. Despite months of traditional antibiotics and special vet-prescribed foods, the stones didn’t dissolve. We’ve since switched her to a low-phosphorus diet from 'My Perfect Pet' and added apple cider vinegar to her regimen. Currently, Gingie Bella is on the path to recovery and will not be available for adoption until her treatment is complete. In the meantime, donations are welcome if you’d like to help with her ongoing medical costs. Gingie Bella is potty trained, walks well on a leash, and gets along with other dogs. They play and sleep together and will give their owner wonderful companionship and hours of laughter and love. Both are very sweet dogs and have been fostered in a loving home where they are learning to trust. They were rescued from a high kill shelter where they taken after being found on the streets as strays in the Inland Empire. Roo is friendly but shy when meeting new people. She loves to be held and will do best in a quiet home with experienced, patient and understanding dog owners. Roo and Cody make a perfect pair and will do best in a home where their owner is always with them. Their adoption fee is $600 for both. --- Come meet our dogs on Saturdays at PetSmart in Costa Mesa from 11:30-2:30.
