Story
Meet Cashew! This little 12-pound stunner has been through quite a bit in his 4 years of life, but he is on the up and up. He was turned in as a stray to a vet hospital when we were contacted. He was practically hairless, itching like crazy, thousands of fleas, and severely underweight. He had one of the most severe skin infections the vet had ever seen. The skin infection was caused by fleas left untreated. Once we had Cashew in our care, he was on the road to recovery. No more fleas, no more itching, hair started to grow back, and the pounds started to pack on! Cashews’ favorite things to do: cuddle, kiss, hug, play, cuddle more, kiss more, hug more, play more; repeat. This little boy is filled with so much love and affection that he has been dying to give for the first 4 years of his life, and man, is he making up for it now! He is wonderful with other dogs, big and small, great with cats, crate-trained, and potty-trained. Cashew may be tiny, but he is mighty. Given Cashew’s past, we have learned quite a bit of what his ideal home would look like. He would thrive with a female owner as he seems to be very wary of men. It is most likely due to his previous owner being the man who neglected and abused him. A person who works from home or is gone short periods of time would be best for Cashew as he is still learning to be secure and confident in his environment and within himself. Cashew has gotten some great training in board and train over the past couple of weeks to help him grow and expand how he reacts to situations and his people. Cashew has so much love to give that he quickly attaches on to his person. He then thinks he needs to protect them from everyone around him. Though this does sound cute, Cashew is going to need some strict boundaries continuing his training in his forever home. This would include not being allowed on the furniture or bed and sleeping in a crate. He is very cuddly, as we mentioned before, so this cuddling can take pace on his level on the floor, but he needs to see you as his leader, not his equal. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to continuing the growth of Cashew and being his leader through his journey. Please apply if you are up to healing and growing with Cashew!

Story
❗Health Status❗ * Neutered. * Heartworm negative. * Has some spinal stenosis so his gait is slightly unstable. However, his condition does not require surgery. * Has a growth, which is not malignant, so surgery is not required. However, observation is needed to see if it gets bigger. * Is fed with prescribed hepatic food for liver management. * Is fed with soft food additionally due to his bad tooth condition. Meet Haesol💕 After long roaming for an unknown period of time, Haesol entered a local temple in search of food and refuge. The monks took good care of him but there were cats in the temple already being cared for. The monks were unable to continue caring for him. Haesol was rescued thanks to the efforts of an Adogs volunteer who learned about the situation. * With People: Shows curiosity towards strangers! Accepts being petted but doesn't enjoy it by them. Relaxes with familiar people and wags his tail happily to greet those who have returned after going out. * With Dogs: Accepts doggy friends who come up to him rather than approaching first. Stays still without discomfort when they approach rather than playing or reacting with them. * Separation Anxiety: Doesn't have separation anxiety and usually sleeps even when he is with other dog friends. * Potty Training: Is good at both indoor potty and outdoor potty. Prefers doing outdoor potty. * Hygiene: Is terrified with baths, because he is not used to it. Doesn't like to be touched, especially on his feet or on his growths, so you have to be patient with him until he gets used to it. Dislikes the sound of the dryer, so the guardian dries him with a fan after baths. Dislikes having his paws touched, so struggles slightly with nail trimming. * Walks: Walks well without pulling on the leash. Sometimes goes where he wants to go, but if you give him a little tug on the leash, he will follow you. May start losing his balance after 20 minutes of walking due to his age, so caution is needed. * Car sickness: Doesn't like to ride in cars and sometimes barks. 💌Special Notes💌 * Is afraid of sudden loud noises. 💙 Foster's Instagram: @easystar_imbo

Meet Candy 🍬 She entered Korean city shelter with her siblings, but she was the only one left after the rest of the puppies all passed away. On top of that, she was bitten at the shelter and had surgery for her ear. She’s currently recovering at Adogs Center. * Toward People: Really likes people and is an affectionate dog that enjoys pets. * Toward Dogs: It’s not completely clear as she hasn’t been in the Center for long, but she doesn’t seem to have any problems living with the other dogs there. ** Health Status: Candy got stitches and is recovering from an ear injury she recieved at the shelter. There are no problems with her hearing.

Story
Meet RED PANDA (f) and SHAZAM (m). They are 8-9 month old Pomeranian/cattle dog mixes who came to us through our community program. They are both very cute and friendly! Red Panda is the smaller but bolder of the two. She likes to explore and is happy to jump right in and play with the bigger dogs. Shazam is a little more shy with dogs but he loves to be cuddled. They get along great and can be adopted together or separately. They are spay/neutered, microchipped, and current on shots. Let us know if you'd like to meet either of these pups by first filling out an application at https://downtowndogrescue.org/adoption-questionnaire

Story
❗Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Meet Sunny with a story of miracles👋 Sunny was found on a street in South Korea at one year old in 2018 and taken to a high-risk shelter, but she was already in serious condition presumably caused by a car accident. Her pelvis was fractured, and her right hind leg bone was broken into pieces. She was saved from euthanasia by the rescue team and hospitalized for months (Jun-Sep 2018) due to the surgery and recovery. She was miraculously given a new life thanks to the rescue. That same year, after a few months of foster period, Sunny found a forever home, which was another miracle we thought of back then. Five years later, however, the rescue team got an unknown phone call requesting to change Sunny's ownership. Long story short, her family decided to give up on her after years, sent her to a pet shop, and paid them, all this without discussing it with the rescue team. This pet shop basically receives pets from owners and in turn, sells them out, and to do so with Sunny, they needed to have Sunny's ownership switched from the rescue team to the pet shop so they contacted the rescue team, and that’s how the rescue team learned Sunny's situation. Eventually, Sunny was able to safely return to her original rescue team, which is another miracle in her story. Despite all these setbacks, Sunny's sweet nature and zest for life shine bright. She needs one true chance to find her real forever family that loves her unconditionally. Recently, she has been moved to her foster home with two other dogs. Sunny is eagerly waiting for her own home now! • Personality: Sweet, Playful, Sociable Sunny thrives on love and affection and gets along with all people and furry friends, making her the perfect companion for anyone seeking a lovely and affectionate fur buddy. She is such a cuddle bug! She likes snuggly cushions and blankets. • Affinity with - Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs regardless of the size - Cats: Okay with street cats. She sometimes tries to chase kittens, but she stops when told. - Adults/Kids: Good with adults, especially elders including men / Okay with kids - not much interest in them. 💫She will be a perfect fit for most types of families! • Walking Manners: very good • Housetrained: fully housebroken, okay with both pee-pads and outdoors. • Separation Anxiety: None • Bathing/Brushing: very good • Barks/Howls: she barks when excited or when she wants something. • Car Rides: very good • Appetite/Food Allergies: No allergies • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 • Health Issues: Due to the serious injuries that she got from an accident right before rescue, her pelvis is not perfectly placed (incomplete union of iliac) even after she had surgery immediately after being rescued. However, currently, she doesn’t show signs of pain when walking or running. If you have an open heart and a loving home for Sunny, please don't hesitate to apply!
