Prince Leo is a 2-year-old, 18-pound Pom mix who is ready for his second chance. He was found as a stray in Bakersfield with three other dogs. Sadly, this area has become a common dumping ground for unwanted dogs. A good samaritan found them, trapped them, and reached out to us for help. Shelter Hope took in all four. Prince Leo is a nervous boy around humans, but he is very gentle and sweet. Once he feels at ease, he’ll come forward to sniff you or accept treats. His personality truly shines around other dogs, where he feels most confident, and he can become anxious if left alone without them. He loves exploring, relaxing in his bed, and following around his doggie friends. Before coming to us, he spent over a year in a home and is still slowly coming out of his shell. Prince Leo is fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. He has been through a lot, and we know there is a home out there for him that will give him the love, time, and patience he deserves. ------- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Meet George!  George is a 2 year old Pomeranian mix. George was rescued out of the Lancaster shelter to make room for a large influx of dogs coming in from a hoarding case in Lake Hughes, CA.  Sadly over 250 dogs were pulled from this home and they all needed to filter into the LA County shelter system, with Lancaster taking a large amount.  All the dogs already at the shelters were in jeopardy due to space.  George is now safe, happy and loved while waiting for his forever family to find him.   If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website and fill out an online application form.  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app     April 6, 2026, 5:29 pm

Hi, I’m Farrah! I have a big heart, a playful streak, and endless love to give. I’m incredibly cuddly and affectionate. I love kisses, laps, and being wherever my person is. If you’re sitting down, I’m climbing up. If you’re moving around, I’m right behind you. Being close to my human is my favorite place in the world. I do best with a consistent routine and someone who is home most of the time (or can bring me along on adventures!). I can get a little anxious when left alone, so I’m looking for a family that understands separation anxiety and will help me continue building confidence. I’m still working on my potty training and will need patience and positive reinforcement as I learn. The good news? I sleep soundly through the night and love curling up in bed with my person. I’m sweet, silly, and so very lovable — the kind of girl who bonds deeply and gives her whole heart. My human is truly my everything. If you’re looking for a devoted little shadow who will shower you with affection and always keep you company, I might just be your perfect match. Much love, Farrah
