Hi sweeties! My name is Buttercup and I am an adorable Chihuahua girl. I arrived at the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society with a previous injury. The staff doesn't know what happened but they think I had an injury to my tail and it had to be removed after seeing stitches on my now docked tail. My friends here also noticed that when it was time to use the restroom I have some trouble with that. Although my friends here don't know if I'll get any better, they do know I still have the best personality and have a lot of love to give despite of it. LISTED AS A GERMAN SHEPHERD BUT HES TINY! 17 pounds Full grown!! Yes, you read that correctly! MEET MUDGE! His little nub was cleaned, checked and wrapped and he got all of his vaccines and fecal testing done. Doctor confirmed he should be full grown at his current size. He’s a young adult, between 9mos to 1.5 years of age on the high age estimate. Mudge LOVES and craves attention. He is every happy go lucky, energetic and doesn't know a stranger. Good with kids. Has potty pad experience, but is used to being let outside to do his business. He is very well socialized with all other sized dogs. He loves to play with everyone. He likes to use the pet stairs to crawl up onto the human bed for snuggles. Mudge the tripod is eagerly awaiting his loving forever home. He is neutered, microchipped with AKC and has his AirTag on for safety. He is not special needs. Everyone that meets this pup loves him. Weighing in at only 13 pounds at his vet visit (he was a little on the thin side, so at 17 lbs or so is a healthy body weight). Sadly his body score condition was extremely low during his first exam / doctors appointment. So we’re working hard to change that to give this deserving dog the opportunity at an incredible new life! Hes deceiving since he looks like a German shepherd but hes tiny, 17 pounds full grown. Our best guess is a Pomeranian mix (Pomsky? PomTerrier?) No one knows but DNA would sure be interesting to find out! Leo the Lion is a loveable 2 year old Pomeranian mix. He was surrendered by his former owners and was fortunate enough to find his way on to The Rescue Train. He is a sweet, funny dog that likes to cuddle, going on long walks and carrying around his favorite Nylabone. Although Leo is hearing impaired, he is very smart. He was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and his seizures are being controlled with phenobarbital. His foster took lessons with a trainer that specializes in deaf dogs so an adopter experienced with deaf/special needs dogs is a plus. He walks well on leash and is very good at maintaining eye contact so he knows when to safely cross the street. He doesn't bark very often, but he does bark very loudly so an apartment would not suit him. He interacts well with other dogs but doesn't necessarily initiate play and sometimes just likes to just watch from the sidelines.
