Raymona is a 5-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix with a big princess personality.   She’d do best in a semi-quiet home where she can be your devoted lap dog. She’s okay with calm dogs and cats but doesn’t enjoy high-energy playmates.   She may be shy at first, but with a little patience (and treats), she bonds deeply and becomes your shadow. Raymona enjoys walks, car rides, and snuggling up to sleep.   She’s mostly potty trained, well-behaved, and non-destructive—just looking for her person to love. Raymona will be available to be adopted March 29th.  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Raymona’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. Meet Kenobi – the wise little gentleman your couch has been waiting for. At approximately 8 years old, Kenobi is the perfect mix of sweet, spunky, calm, and a little bit quirky in the most lovable way. This charming Chihuahua mix may be entering his “distinguished gentleman” era, but don’t let the age fool you — he still has plenty of love (and opinions about treats) to share. Kenobi came into rescue as a very neglected stray and is believed to have possibly been hit by a car. When he arrived, he had a large wound on his back that needed immediate veterinary care. Thanks to the quick action of the team at Needy Paws and lots of TLC, he has healed beautifully and is now ready for the next chapter of his life: a cozy forever home. Kenobi is partially blind, which just means he prefers a calmer lifestyle. Fast-moving animals and kids can make him a little nervous, so he would do best as an only pet or with another mellow companion — a fellow laid-back small dog or a quiet cat who also appreciates the fine art of relaxing. What Kenobi truly loves is the simple life: • Warm couch snuggles • Delicious treats (he considers himself a connoisseur) • Gentle neck rubs • Being close to his favorite human He’s basically your own tiny retired gentleman who would happily supervise movie nights, nap schedules, and snack time. But be careful on the snacks, he is very overweight, so it’s best if food and treats are monitored.  He will need someone to help guide him on his weight loss journey towards that summer bod. ** SPECIAL NEEDS **  Level 4 Heart Murmur **  **REQUIRES FENCED YARD **  NEEDS A COMPANION DOG * Meet 'Beans', an 8-1/2 yr old, 12 lb, Chihuahua Mix .  He's considered 'Special Needs' due to his Level 4 Heart Murmur, however, he's not on medication.  He's housebroken and seems to ride well in a car curled up in a bed in the passenger seat. Not leash trained so he requires a Secure Fence Yard.  Beans is a "climber" using rocks/boards to jump up on. As some other dogs, he's a Good Escape Artist and Door Darter whenever door is open.  He will need a companion dog in the home to help him continue to thrive to be a great dog. He also has a 'cloudy eye' but still sees okay.  Beans came from a very bad situation that included bitten by tons of fleas and ticks losing all his hair and he would love to find a family to give him a better life.
