APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. BUDDY is about 15#. He is most likely a Chihuahua mix but the mix has made him a little larger than most Chihuahuas. My scanner app on my phone said possibly 8% Kishu Ken; 7.2% Portuguese Podengo; and 7% Rat Terrier. The darkness around his eyes is the natural color of his hair... not weepy eyes. His DOB is approximately 6/1/23. He came from a family that had 6 kids and one was autistic. This child was too rough with the cat and Buddy so the owner surrendered for the dog’s sake. He’s really a VERY happy dog… Here is what the foster had to say of him: BUDDY is a real country boy. He came from a home in the country. He can be quite an escape artist out the front door if allowed. You need to provide a steps beside the bed because he has a difficult time getting up on his own. He is definitely food motivated and having come from a home with 6 kids, he definitely likes human food. He will escort you to every room in the house to make sure you don’t get lost. He loves to play with… dogs, cats, and PIGS!! Buddy is the perfect family dog. While he has a tiny shadow, he has a big heart. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
Name: Piper Sex: Female Estimated Age: 8 years old Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua Mix Weight: About 13 lbs Lives With: Dogs, cats, and people! Housebroken? Piper is potty trained and crate trained. Story: Piper was rescued from Puerto Rico. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Piper is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with cats and other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Piper is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Piper will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Piper (who I have been calling Rosalita or Rosie, as a nod to her Puerto Rican heritage) is an adorable couch snuggler. She is very well-behaved in the home, and is content to lie on her bed and nap or watch her person when she's not with them on the couch. She is starting to get more confident with other people/dogs on our walks - she is happy to gently greet people and has even started getting a little excited or doing play bows with a few of the dogs we have met. I have been working on crate-training with her, and she is very content to go into her crate and take a nap when need be. Her favorite activities so far are going on walks to check out the smells in the neighborhood, and then getting cozy on the couch to watch some TV! The fee to adopt Piper is $350. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Piper has been seen by a shelter vet and is being treated for Heartworm. Heartworm is a very treatable illness that is common in many shelter dogs coming from Puerto Rico. For more information on heartworm, visit our blog. If you think that Piper might be your perfect match, apply today!December 29, 2024, 2:55 pm

Story
Name: Muffin Sex: Female Estimated Age: 10 years old Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua Mix Weight: About 8 lbs Lives With: Dogs, cats, and people! Housebroken? Muffin is potty trained and crate trained. Story: Muffin was rescued from a shelter in South Carolina. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Muffin is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with cats and other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Like all dogs, Muffin will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Muffin is the absolute sweetest girl. She loves her humans and wants to cuddle them and love on them. She’s house trained and sleeps through the night in her crate without a peep. She lives with two other pups and seems to be more interested in human attention than fur siblings. She is great on a leash - enjoys walks—but also is fine to lay by your side. She’s got a spunky personality and is really silly! She is looking for her forever home to share all her love with!  The fee to adopt Muffin is $350. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Muffin has been seen by a shelter vet and is being treated for Heartworm. Heartworm is a very treatable illness that is common in many shelter dogs coming from the South.
